- Wedding: September 2013
For the ceremony I’m going to have a big bulletin board that will be the program. I have an orange damask cloth that I’m going to use to cover the cork. My goal is to re-use a lot of my wedding decor around the house for happy reminders.
In that picture frame I’m going to have instructions to take a wand and wave it to celebrate during the ceremony.
I also need to finish staining the crates, and finish putting together the program.
Forgive the cat and the INCREDIBLY dirty rug, I haven’t vaccuumed it in weeks because until recently it was covered in boxes. We had to rent a storage unit for various reasons (wedding crafts being one of those reasons).
Bulletin Board $25 or $30 (HomeGoods)
Afterward I realized it was mis-marked to be the price of the smaller sizes. After the wedding I’m going to put some hooks into the cork and use the bulletin board as a jewelry holder like this.
(3) Wood Crates $8.88 each (Mill stores)
I think they’re ususally around $10. They’re also sold at the craft stores (AC Moore, Michael’s, etc…) and if you keep going back to buy them with 40% off coupons you can get them even cheaper than I did.
Grey Stain with stain sponges – I forget the price (Home Depot or Lowe’s)
I actually already use these for storage on my bookshelfs. And will go back to using them for that after or use them as planters outside until they fall apart. The staining is my FI’s job and he’s already spent a morning doing 4 of them so budget time wisely if you take your time on projects.
Letters $5.99 for the &/$3.50 for each C (Marshalls)
Going to use one pair to decorate the ceremony, and the other for cocktail hour decor. Going to use them as house decor after.
Frame $3.99 (Savers)
Details on how I made them, and what they cost, here
Lantern Holders under $7 each on clearance (TJ Maxx)
Not sure what I’ll use these for after…I’m sure I’ll find some silly use
I also have the letters in white (there were loads of C’s on sale at TJ Maxx and Marshalls for $3.50 each and I couldn’t resist!)
