I think that’s its totally okay to nix the programs!

A great way to honor the bridal party and parents would be to have your DJ or whoever introduce everyone as they enter the reception!

Skip the programs and introduce the wedding party at the reception.

I didn’t have any programs, and I haven’t heard a word about their absence almost 6 months post wedding.

For deceased grandparents, we had a little framed deal with their names on one side and a poem on the other. It was displayed up front by the sign in book.

Im not doing programs, to me its outdated, but that’s just my opinion.

I would do programs if you are having a long ceremony that have audience participation like a Catholic ceremony but if it is short and sweet then skip the programs!

Try a half page handout with the song lyrics on one side and the bridal party and theme verse on the other. I would want at least the song lyrics – I don’t care about anything else.

Absolutely get rid of them. I find programs such a waste of time and money.

Just not sure how to honor the wedding party and parents and thank the guests without it.

Maybe have a sign in displayed with the names of the wedding party?  Or they can get their names introduced when they enter the reception space?

I love this idea of making your own chalkboard:

As for thanking the guests – that’s what your reception is for!  No need to have it written down.
