Ok so our ceremony is going to short and sweet and very simple, so I dont feel the need for prgrams, however I do want to put programs on the place settings because there are some things regarding the events of the reception that I would like guests to know. Is it odd to only have a reception programs? And what information are/did you put in your programs, the ones we bought give 4 pages to fll.

If you feel your reception needs programs, then make them. If the ceremony doesn’t need them, don’t have them. If you made a ceremony program and it really had no information in it that people found interesting or relevant, then they will be less likely to look at your reception program because they may assume it is the same kind of content – especially if you designed similar covers.
There’s no obligation to have either, so I don’t think you should worry about anything being “odd.” Share the information you’d like the guests to have and be content with it. No need to add worry about something like this to your plate. 🙂
