    My big things are pretty well taken care of.  Now I just need to decide between two dresses… I’ll be asking for some August ladies’ opinions once the second one arrives.

    Yay for you!

    I have the date, the venue, my dress, our photographer, my florist, our wedding website, our guest”book”…

    When grad school’s done (for GOOD!) this summer, I will work on the DIY stuff… Save-The-Date Cards, invites, escort cards, garter, maybe my veil…

    I still have over a year to go Embarassed Wedding planning is just so much more fun than “real life!”

    We have dragged our feet for so long on getting a church but we finally did last weekend! Now to start marriage classes Undecided We will also be booking our honeymoon this weekend, paying the rest of our hall/food off and booking our photographer.

    We are DIYing the flowers so thats already started, booked our dj, and photobooth so we’ve got almost all the big stuff out of the way. I am going to look into cakes very soon now ๐Ÿ™‚ I have also started some DIY projects..

    I have the photographere meeting with me this weekend. I am pretty sure we are using her for the pics.

    I figured out our officiant and just need him to confirm the date is avail. I have my dress ordered and all but one dress for my girls. I have told all of them except Bridesmaid or Best Man number 5 and I can’t get a hold of either option (Blech).

    I have flowers picked and the vendor picked – I just need to go to shop and tell them.

    We also have the guest list decided.


    I still need tents, tables, chairs, catering (for side-dishes), buy our wedding bands, decide on a DJ/music, rent portajohns, buy linens and chair covers, buy flower girl dresses, make all of my DIY stuff, print/send out Save the Dates, make the invites, decide on DIY hair/makeup or ask my stylist, get a bartender, buy alcohal, finish buying decorations, buy dinnerware, find someone to make the cake…ok, Im behind. So much for feeling positive.

    All of the big stuff is almost complete!!! We had a rental appt. yesterday, one this evening, and a tent rental appt. next Tuesday! Then I can focus on DIY projects! ๐Ÿ™‚

    I’m feeling pretty good about my progress.

    Things I’m done:

    Venues (ceremony and reception/food/booze and both venues come with all the chairs and linens and set up etc)


    Wedding bands



    Wedding Cake

    Dress (and most of my accessories)

    Hair stylist

    Ribbon wands for send off

    Invitations (purcahsed, but not printed)

    Things to still do: (mostly DIY stuff)

    Finish crafting the centerpeices, bouquets, bouts

    Finish the programs

    Order the Bridal party clothes

    grooms suit (he wants a tan suit so were for srping stock)<br /><br />finalize music, menu and guests<br /><br />some other little things i'm sure i'm forgetting<br /><br />&nbsp;<br /><br />So Im feeling pretty good! I do a little bit more everyweekend ๐Ÿ™‚  All the base parts are complete, so no matter what there will be a party!

    I feel like things are rolling along right now too!  During the holidays everything really dragged along, but last week we had a tasting/meeting with our venue event coordinator who is basically our wedding planner and we got sooo much figured out during that meeting and we also have a fresh set of to-dos to get working on!

    2. Florist contract – SIGNED!!!!!

    We are doing great considering our wedding is not for a year and 3 months. We’ve got our venue booked, my dress purchased, and we’ve already interviewed with 3 photographers. We have 1 more to interview on Thursday, and by then hopefully we can make a decision. This is the hardest part for me. We already have an officient (a relative).

    Oh and we signed a lease on an apartment yesterday ๐Ÿ™‚

    Yay!  That was me a couple weeks ago when I booked our caterer and dj and bought a dress all in the same week!  It feels so good to have those big things behind you!

    This weekend we are finally doing a cake tasting and consultation!  Hooray!  Last big vendor, and then I don’t have to call for quotes or set up appointments for quite awhile!

    I am feeling pretty good about everyhting. We have all of the big stuff done and are working on little projects/details. However its still ski season and since our venue is a ski resort its very difficult to get in touch with our planner and thats making me a little crazy. But we have time so I try to keep reminding myself that.

    Invitations–all FI!  He’s stressing but will feel better once he’s started work on them.

    Pondering logistics. We don’t get to board much earlier than the guests do, so I hope to, with some help, get on the boat, set the flowers on the tables, put favors at the kids’ places, put out the card basket, set out the wedding cake, and then go hide before guests arrive.  I will likely have to delegate all that.  It can’t be fully planned until we have the final guest numbers.

    BEFORE getting on the boat (at 10:30 or 11:00) I need to be haired, makeup’ed and dressed. I don’t know WHERE or WHEN that will occur.  If at my house, then probably at 9:00am. I’ll likely want the car(s) packed with flowers & extras before that starts, and someone will have to go get the cake. I’ll have it all choreographed.  I don’t know how to keep the silk skirt of the dress in good condition for the ceremony.

    I will assign punctual relatives each a forgetful relative to make sure they make the boat.

    Just as important is choreographing who takes the flowers & extra cake off the boat along with whatever else.

    Oh, and we have to figure out who is going to pick us up from the getaway hotel the next day, since we’re taking a hired car there.

    Someone needs to watch the cats on the wedding night.

    I don’t know when I’ll make the bouquets or when the groom is going to wig out because he feels he doesn’t know what’s going to happen next, lol.
