I’ve booked:

venue (ceremony & reception), officiant, photographer, flowers (was going to DIY but got a great deal!), dress, jewellery, shoes etc. Picked out tuxes but still need to rent. Will go bridesmaid dress shopping in the next 2 weeks, bought my bridesmaids gifts, making my own cake… There’s probably more but I just can’t remember right now.

I’ve got my dress and the bridesmaids dresses all paid for, and they’ve all arrived as well. ceremony and reception site are booked, photographer, officiant, and caterer are booked with deposits paid. Makeup artist and hairdresser are booked and deposits down. Invitations are here and Save-The-Date Cards went out last month. We still need to go look at tuxes, but Fiance is dragging his feet. He’s got three weeks and then I am going without him lol. Other than that, decor is my big project right now. Mom and aunt are coming to town next month to see the venue and go shopping so we can start picking things out. I know what type of decor I want, and have lots of ideas, just nothing concrete purchased yet.

Destination Wedding in Scotland.

Dress: Done. Bought and is sitting in my closet waiting for alterations

B-maids Dresses: Bought,  waiting for them to come in

MoB dress – had one, didn’t like it, going shopping next week to find one

Flowers: Decided – paid deposit

Photographer: Decided – paid deposit

Officiant: Booked all set – it’s the registy office so it’s simple

Catering: part of the venue. we’ve picked menu selections for people to chose their meals

Cake: we know the bakery, FI’s mom works withthem a lot, and have decided style. they have us on the calendar but no contract or anything yet

Groom and Groomsmen attire: probably grey suits. Leaving this to Fiance as it’s his deal.

Wedding rings: bought them on Saturday. Mine had to be custom so we picked that up and got FI’s at the same time

Venue: Both ceremony and reception are at the same place. Booked, deposit in for ages.

Wedding Paper: Save-the-dates – sent. Invites arrived this week. I’ll be spending spring break next week addressing envelopes and putting names on RSVP cards.

Decor: Not really having any. The venue is so pretty it doesn’t really need anything. The DJ comes with lights and that will be enough. Venue cost includes centerpieces.

DJ/Music/Entertainment: booked. we are having a ceilidh (traditional scotish folk dancing) and then a traditional DJ afterwards

MC/DoC/bartender/wait staff– comes with the venue hire

Hair/Make-up: Decided and booked. Won’t have a trial until 3 days before the wedding. May have one here before I go

Favors: Fiance wants REAL scotish pint glasses with our names and the wedding date. I dont’ really care about favors and would be fine skipping them. He really wants it so he’s paying for it πŸ™‚

Parties: dates booked with the BM’s. Plans for the shower are in full swing. no idea yet what we’re doing for the bachlorette other than we know the date.

Tartan stuff – shoes are ordered, just waiting for them to arrive. Need to stil order cuff links, ties, ribbon, etc in the family tartan we’re using

@suburbian:  my mom is buying her own dress, we’re just going shopping together. She HATES shopping and needs moral support πŸ™‚ I have a feeling the guys are going to be told a shade of grey and then they will just go out a buy suits. My Fiance is here, best man is about 20 minutes from us, but the two otehr Groomsmen are overseas – one in England and one in Hong Kong.

Destination actually makes it easier – can’t DIY because I can’t transport it. Have to trust the internet and the reveiws and just go with it and hope for the best. I can’t get stressed because I can’t control it. We’ve eaten the food at the venue and know it’s excellent so all will be well (and they have a WELL stocked bar).

@suburbian:  Haha, I love him, but he has also mentioned wanting to just show up in jeans ;P our reception is being held in a renovated barn on a vineyard, and I’m going all out on the rustic country theme-I know, it’s so last year, but what can I say, I love it! I want lots of string lights, green apple centerpieces, and burlap/lace runners with my eggplant tablecloths (My girls are in eggplant as well). I’m really excited to actually start buying things, since pretty much everything decor wise will be DIY. I really need to get started!

@suburbian: Good idea lady!  This was helpful.  Ack!  So much to do.  I would recommend that everyone take their list like this, and make one where you write down everything you can possibly think of that needs to be done for each category.  I did that last week and it’s like 6 pages long :/  But helpful to have it written down instead of only in my brain.

Dress: Bought it, have a plan with a local seamstress to get it altered in July.  (Should be quick and easy.)

B-maids Dresses: Decided against doing a wedding party – too many friends, don’t want a big fuss of a line, like the idea of an intimate ceremony.

Flowers: DIY.  Dad’s in charging of growing a gazillion zinnias, dahlias, daisies, and sunflowers.  Will tell him what colors to plant when it’s time (May?).  Need to buy bouquet- & bout-making supplies.

Photographer: Deposit down.

Officiant: Haven’t asked our friend yet… need to get on this…  Also need to write ceremony and vows!

Catering/Dinnerwaire: Was all booked until the venue changed some stuff about kitchen access – need to make sure it works with the caterer.  Ack!  Also figure out plan for DIY Friday night BBQ.

Cake: Caterer is in charge of desserts / cupcakes / whatev.  Will figure this out later.

Groom and Groomsmen attire: Have to take the boy shopping for a grey suit – something affordable, JC Penney or whatever.  He wants to slim down a bit first.  June?

Wedding rings: I’ve got mine (heirloom), I have ideas for his.  Need to get him sized and order one.

Venue: All good to go – need to pay final costs and do a run-through in early August.

Wedding Paper: Save-the-dates – sent. Invites – probably doing Paperless Post emailed ones.  Skipping programs, menus.

Decor: Done: mason jars & other vases, paper dot garlands, tea lights, white Xmas lights, cornhole & monkey nuts.  To do: borrow more Xmas lights, decorate mason jars, make altar, make large polaroid-like frame for photo opps, make welcome/menu/ceremony/etc signs, make giant Jenga, buy paper lanterns.

Table/chair rental: Rented from the venue – need to finalize numbers in July

Tent Rental: Comes with the venue

Linen: Buying?  No idea!  Maybe from smartyhadaparty.com?  Figure out table runners too.

DJ/MC/Speakers/Music/Entertainment: Band is arranged along w/ stand-in drummer for Fiance.  Need to arrange cocktail hour music (uncle/cousin) and rehearsal party music (jam session with all the musician guests? or arrange band?)  Arrange ceremony music w classical guitarist friend.  Arrange for flatbed truck for band.

Bartender: DIY.  Some wine bought.  Need to buy more wine, figure out plan for kegs, buy drink dispensers.

Hair/Make-up: DIY – need to practice.  Ask knowledgeable friend to help??

Favors: Koozies!  Done!

Parties: Joint camping trip bach party tentatively scheduled early August.  No bridal shower?  No bridesmaids and clueless-about-weddings mother.  Most guests are Out of Town.

And a couple I added:

Transportation: Need to figure out shuttle from venue to town (10 min drive).

Hotel block: Done.  Keep tabs to see if more need to be reserved.  Make welcome bags.

Honeymoon: Figure out a plan!  We just took 3 weeks off to go to Nicaragua in January, so nothing extravagant.

Gifts: Get gifts for parents, officiant, musicians, Fiance.

@suburbian:  I’m not sure when I’ll be baking it yet but you can definately store them in the freezer and they’ll be fine.  I’ll probably decorate it a day or 2 before the wedding.

We’re having about 100 people at our art gallery wedding. 80% of our current guest list is from out of town. If a lot of them decline then we will invite more local friends that we couldn’t initially fit into our budget.

Dress: Picked a dress, will be having it made by Jasmine’s bridal. Kind of freaking out because I am cutting it close.

B-maids Dresses: They are choosing their own as long as it’s in the teal family

Flowers: Picked my florist today

Photographer: Picked and paid last month, gave us 10% off to pay in full

Officiant: Asked my best friend to marry us

Catering: Picked, but Fiance needs to come up with a menu and let me know what he is budgeting for it

Cake: We are planning on asking a friend of ours if he might be able to make one for us. He’s a pastry chef.

Groom and Groomsmen attire: I haven’t started asking him yet when he’s going to get on that. I’ll probably start naggin him soon. πŸ™

Wedding rings: I have mine, it came with my ring. We have to go look for one for him.

Venue: Done and done. That was the first thing we started looking at. I LOVE our venue.

Wedding Paper: Save-the-dates – sent. Bought a VistaPrint deal and I have planned to design our invites next month to have them here by the end of May.

Decor: Started my DIY projects, I currently don’t feel like it’ll take very long. But we’ll see once I’m in the middle of things

Table/chair rental: I’ve been kind of looking, but I feel a bit over my head on rentals.

Linen/Dinnerware: Same as above

DJ/MC/Speakers/Music/Entertainment: Nothing yet, thinking of giving this task to Fiance

Bartender: Eh, debating on who to ask to be ours. We work in this industry.

Hair/Make-up: Might ask either my Fiance sister or his cousin to do our hair and faces. They are both cosmatologists.

Favors: DIY’ing mini pinatas and filling them with candy, hopefully I’ll start that this week. Hopefully….

Parties: Not going to have a shower, I don’t want one. But hopefully I’ll be able to do a girls night the friday before our wedding.

Hotel Block: Did that today as well. Found a pretty great deal in the downtown area of our city.
Trasportation: Need to call around about this to see if it’s in our budget

This is fantastic!  It’s great to read what other bee’s have done, and see some things on the list that I hadn’t even thought of (yikes).

Like @Ixtlali, Our operation is around 100 people, with a large percentage of our guests coming from out of town.  We’re looking at a vintage inspired affair by the river, in an historic hotel, incorporating the river and history.

Dress: Picked out, and deposit placed!  I’m still not enitrely settled, but I’ll probably stick with this one.  It’s gorgeous, I’m just indecisive.  I have the sash, shoes, and the veil picked out, just need to get fitted, and I need a hair piece.

B-maids Dresses: ORDERED.  Check!  Still need them to come in and sent out to my bridesmaids (All over the country) and get fitted.  Also have the gifts for the girls and for all the famiyl women.

Flowers: Picked the florist, paid the deposit, and after a good amount of back and forth, have a detailed estimate with the decor all blocked out.  Whoo!  Manzanita trees with LED lights, lantern and doily centerpieces, peach roses, white hydrangea, etc etc etc!

Photographer: Deposit paid!  Engagement shots taken!  Excitement overload!  Best photographer ever!

Officiant: Booked and paid deposit!  Just need to finalize the ceremony.  We’ve picked our readings and our rituals, though we still need ribbons for our hand fasting.

Catering: Deposit paid with venue, provisional menu decided, tasting 1 month out.

Cake: Bakery chosen, but still haven’t booked or done a tasting.  Design is picked though!

Groom and Groomsmen attire: In process.  Groom’s suit and shirt are purchased, one groomsmen has his suit, but the other two are picked out, and we’ve purchased their pocket squares.  Still need ties.

Wedding rings: Picked out, need to pruchse.

Venue: Both ceremony and reception are at the same location, which also has hotel rooms for the family.  And it’s gorgeous.

Wedding Paper: Save-the-dates – sent. Invitations: prepped.  Now we’re just waiting for the right time to send them out.  We also have the guest book, the materials for escort cards, and the table numbers.  We still need programs (picked out) and thank you notes.

Decor: Mostly coming from the florist, but we have the extras we need – antique doilies, lanterns, votives, table number holders.  Still need ring bearer pillow, and photo displays, which I need to make.  That’s a lot of work!

Table/chair/portaJ rental: Not necessary, all venue provided.

Tent Rental: Tent ready as rain back up for ceremony.

Linen/Dinnerware: Venue provided.

DJ/MC/Speakers/Music/Entertainment: Ceremony and Reception musicians booked.  I’m beyond excited about all the live music.  We’ve picked out our main songs, but still need to finalize things.

Bartender: Comes with venue.

Hair/Make-up: Doing myself – I’ve been practicing, nothing nailed down.  Trying false eye lashes.

Favors: Fans, ordered and recieved, nowI just need to add the ribbons to them all.  Also have the display basket for them.

Parties: Not really having anything, but I’m thinking that we’ll do something nice for the rehearsal dinner.

Hotel Block: Have not done yet.  Starting that this week though, and have the hotels picked out.
Transportation: Not sure what’s available, will investigate when I figure out the hotel blocks.
Honeymoon: Figured out, but we need to book.  Nova Scotia and Newfoundland!

Gifts: Need parent gifts, gifts for each other, gift for venue owner.
