You are the only one who would know unless you tell someone. If you feel like a bride when you try it on then it is bridal enough. This is one of the situations where what other people have to say doesn’t really matter, because it is about how you feel in it. A beautiful dress is a beautiful dress no matter the label.

Do it! I went looking at several prom/bridal stores. I found serveral dresses that were very similar to popular wedding dresses. The biggest thing that stopped me was the ones I found online and loved, were not at the locations I was looking at.

I don’t think anyone would be able to tell its not a ‘bridal’ gown.

omg that would be beautiful!!!!!!!

I almost thought of wearing MY prom dress as my wedding dress, seeing if i could dye it a bit whiter, since its a buttermilk yellow, simple yet classy and beautiful!

I think that ones gorgeous too in the pic u posted!

FutureMrsHodgy:  I think it looks so gorgeous, and if you have a body to pull it off that is even more reason to do it…but depending on the location and venue of your wedding, this could either work or not.

I seriously considered this for a long time. I’m still exploring options at newyorkdress.com/other sites. I have limited shops where I live so I’ve resorted to online. Besides that, a couple local shops were super snobby about my desire to try on a prom dress instead so I decided I was done with that here. That dress is gorgeous, and you look amazing in it! It’s *your* day’ wear what you love!

I worked at a high-end prom boutique for a while and many girls used the expensive ($700-$900) Jovani and Sherri Hill Prom dresses as wedding dresses all the time especially if they wanted more of a couture look but couldn’t afford the bridal designers. Many of their dresses come in ivory, white, champagne, and blush.

The dress you posted really does look like it’s a wedding gown, I would definitely go for it!

I thought so it is absolutely stunning on you! I would pull the trigger if its your dream dress no one has to know its a prom gown and besdes who really cares I consider Sherri Hill more as high-end evening gowns I mean celebrities wear them its not like they’re cheap 😀

FutureMrsHodgy:  I wouldn’t question it’s credentials as a wedding gown. If that’s you in the picture well I’d say you and the dress are a perfect (stunning!) match.

FutureMrsHodgy:  I think that dress is stunning! The only thing I’d say about is that the neckline could maybe be brought up a bit, like the lace panel raised.

If that is you, I am totally jealous of your flawless figure and hair! You look like a real life barbie doll! Beautiful!

FutureMrsHodgy:  omg you look amazing in that dress! I think it’s plenty bridal…all you need is a simple cathedral length veil & you’re good to go!
