Looks like something from that trashy reality show MY GYPSY WEDDING

The revealing aspect isn’t as bothersome as the ungodly hideousness of that dress. It reminds me of something off that show My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.

My prom was in ’07 and as you can see, the shorter cocktail style dresses were a hit for mine. Mostly because I live in a sub tropical climate so late April on is humid as f***. I definitely don’t think anyone wore floor length gowns to our prom. I’m the one in the middle here.

Idk I think prom is generally an excuse to wear the tackiest thing that’s trendy and think you are fly as heck.

I mean, this was the style in the early 2000s (I remember a LOT of girls at my school rockin the two piece for prom or dresses that were so blinged out and poofy they could stand up on their own. I graduated in 2002 for reference)

We can all say “kids these days” but most of us grew up in the era of super low rise jeans and whale tales. Can we REALLY judge? lol

I’m 23, but I like to call myself an old soul. Dresses and even some fasion these days leaves very little to the imagination. Prom is supposed to be everyone looking elegant and pristine, not half covered in glitter and sheer tulle. COME ON! Bathing suit cover-ups cover more skin than this!

What’s with all this shaming people for shaming? I’d rather be a slut shamer than a shame shamer.

See how stupid it all sounds? If you’re shaming someone for their opinion, you’re a shamer yourself.

Shame, shame, shame.

Teenagers will always dress like they can’t show enough skin because they are hormone-charged, oversized barbie dolls. I will not shame them for their lack of sense, which is natural in this stage of development.

I will, however, shame them for their GAWDAWFUL sense of fashion. Seriously? Sparkly multi-colored bikini-tulle is UGGGLEE, gurl.

Darling Husband and I were in a restaurant once (it must have been prom season) when a huge group of teens came in. All the girls were wearing the shortest, most revealing dresses I’ve ever seen in public. Dh glanced over at them and turned back to me and said, “I feel like a dirty old man just glancing in their direction.”

But a few years later my son had his 8th grade promotion, and most of the girls were wearing more or less the same sort of dresses. They are all pretty because it is hard for a 13 or 14 year old girl not to look pretty in anything, but I had to wonder where their mums were. I will certainly guide my own Dear Daughter to wear something a little less revealing and appropriate for a school event.
