Ridiculously over the top--since when is it not enough to just ask your date to prom? : (69 votes)

I find some pretty adorable, lol. Mine was three years ago, but nothing flashy. He just asked and I said yes.

But, there was my best friend, and he was going to ask my other best friend of 10 years to go to prom with him, so he hid 5 balloons in her locker that said P-R-O-M-? on them, with my help, and she was so embarrassed, and said no in front of all of his friends! It was so upsetting. Sometimes I think it’s cute when it’s just the guy or girl but it’s upsetting when the girl says no. My best friend was sulking the whole prom night.

I would’ve loved one!!! But then I’m a sucker for that stuff 🙂 I think flash mobs, etc, can be pretty over the top….and I would hope that the person doing the promposing would know for sure that their intended date will say yes!!!

I like the idea! too bad I couldn’t sit through all the annoying animated gifs though. I would have loved to see what they were.

I’ve seen a couple promprosals… I think its big, showy, flashy and kind of corny; all things a prom with 17 and 18 year old teens should be. Now when people actually propose in huge ornate spectacles,  thats a different story.

I saw one the other day!  There was a plane banner reading “[girl’s name], will you go to prom with me? <3 Jason”  I couldn’t believe people actually did that!

@confusedbee333:  Ironically, I’m not a really “sappy” person. My ex didn’t really propose to me, and that was actually completely cool with me. But promposals?? I was TOTALLY on board!

I wanted a promposal and I was sad that I didn’t get one. LOL. I had just broken up with my bf of two years and was talking to a male friend of mine who called to check on me. As I was crying he says, “Well….prom is coming up and you are a princess of the court so…u wanna go?” LOL. I said, “I was expecting to be asked in some special way, but that’s cool.”

He made prom pretty amazing since he was technically my “first love”, but I’m still salty about not getting a promposal ’til this day….and he knows about it. Haha!

I had a sort of promposal, my date filled my locker with flowers. When I opened my locker it was an avalanche of carnations and a card asking me to prom. It was really sweet and made my year!

I think it’s cute. They’re just kids having a good time, and at least they’re putting their time into something creative and harmless.
