After much trepidation!
I have extremely varied musical interests. My favorites include Otis Redding, Temptations, Stevie Wonder, DMB, Minus the Bear, Coldplay, Death Cab, etc. etc. Fiance doesn’t have an extensive knowledge of music.
As a result of these things, we have NEVER had a song. Like, ever. There are a few songs that have meaning to us…Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong being one of them. We danced to that song as played by a brass band in the middle of the street one summer night. But Fiance thinks it’s too stereotypical. So the debate continued. But we eventually made a decision!
Never Tear Us Apart by INXS
Reasoning: The first time I watched Donnie Darko was with Fiance many years ago. This is the opening song in the director’s cut. I remember when it came on, I recognized it and I looked at him and said “This is a great song.” And since then, he associated it with me. And he likes the song. No deeper meaning than that.
Do you guys think it’s too intense for a first dance?
