Congrats on the upcoming proposal! Such an exciting time. I have a very old stone set in a six prong solitaire. I like that the roundness of the stone is preserved. I personally don’t feel like to have too much metal, but I’m in the camp of every ring is beautiful in its own way.

Hope this helps!

I prefer 6 prongs. My only issue with 4 is that I’ve seen some women with round diamonds and 4 prongs and they look like cushions at first glance.

My ring has hefty prongs (and eight of them!) but the metal look is offset by pave and milgrain on the side of each prong. From the top, the prongs are very delicate, and only noticeable insofar as they gently circle my diamond.

Most people don’t notice my prongs unless they see the pave glowing in the light.

I had 6 on my first set with my RB.  Now I have 4 prongs holding my rectangle radiant.  Once we got past the shopping phase I never noticed the prongs at all on either.

@mrspinesol:

(please ignore my super dry hands)

I absolutly LOVE my ring! We got it at moissaniteco. Its the sol238d setting with a 6mm (.75ct) unenhanced.

Here’s a side view of my e-ring. The prongs aren’t as bold as they seem. Sorry for the huge picture…I have no clue how to make it non giantic.

I have four claw prongs on my 1 carat moissanite. My setting is a little bit different though. It has kind of a mini halo under the stone, so I don’t know how helpful it’ll be. Haha. Anyway – here ya go!

@mrspinesol: it’s a replica.  I wanted Palladium and the hubby found it for me. It was his favorite.
