I noticed my diamond was loose a week after I got my e-ring, so I went back to the jeweler and he tightened it. I was looking at my ring VERY closely today, and noticed that one of the prongs (it’s 14K white gold) has a dent in it. It looks like if you were to take a hammer to a piece of aluminum foil… the dent is in the shape of a half-circle, right at the tip of the prong.
And another one of them has a scratch. I barely wear my ring… I take it off when i cook/clean/shower or anything that involved using my hands a lot.
Did the jeweler dent the prong when he was tightening it?
Should the prongs on a ring be smooth?
Should I go back and have him replace the prong?
I’m not trying to be a picky b*tch or anything… but it took a long time for my Fiance to save up for this ring. We don’t have a lot of money, so I cant just go out and drop another $1-2,000 whenever I want. I just want to make sure that we didn’t get screwed.
