Hello lovely BEES!!
I am changing the prongs on my engagement ring and was wondering if the size of the prongs matters. I want to lift my prongs a bit so that my band will sit flushed with the engagement ring. The jeweler told me I could put my diamond on a prong set for a 1.50 carat diamond, a 1.75 carat diamond or a 2 carat diamond. I have a 1.80 carat found diamond.
Have any of you changed the prongs on your rings? Have any of you heard of this? I will probably go with the 1.75 but was wondering what the difference would be.

I would think the prongs are thicker and the basket is larger as you gu up in size for diamond. the 1.75 sounds like the closest match to me too.

I changed the prongs on my ring. It is incredible how different it looks!! I have a cathedral setting and although it looked as if the diamond was raised, it wasn’t because the side diamonds were flushed with the diamond. Not sure if that makes sense. I debated changing the prongs for a while because I felt that my ring didn’t look as big or as great quality as it really is. The diamond was really in there with no extra space for light.
I am soooooo happy! My co-worker noticed the difference immediately and one of my students asked me if I had changed my ring.
I am SO happy! If any of you have ever debated changing your prongs for a higher one, consider it. 🙂
