Has anyone been there? I just want to try on ONE dress. No one in my area has it and I’ll be going to NYC with a friend next month. Will they let me just try on the one dress or will that be a hassle? Are they pushy? What was your experience like?

I had a great experience there as did some friends of mine. Just meet with them and tell them what you want. Appointments during the week are 1 hr, on the weekend 1.5 hrs. There is a flat alteration fee of $500, to that adds to the bottom line. Also, they have lots of trunk shows (I think Tuesdays). Depending on your dress, you might be able to go on one of those days and get it for less.
I ended up buying my dress at RK Bridal (HIGHLY recommended if you know what you are looking for.)

Have you called ahead of time to make sure they have the dress you’re looking for? They don’t carry everything pictured on the Pronovias website. There was a dress I loved that was featured on a poster in the store, but they didn’t have that sample in stock either!
I had a nice experience there, even though they didn’t give us champagne, like I’d heard they did. They let you take photos before you buy, which is great. But they didn’t have the dresses I was looking for, and nothing else they had spoke to me. So I left empty-handed.
They weren’t pushy, and they haven’t called or e-mailed me since.
