Hi! I’m new to the board. I was wondering if anyone has worn the Pronovias Ballet Gown? Initially, I swore I would NEVER wear a ball gown or a mermaid gown, and well, I ended up choosing the Pronovias Ballet gown. Its just soooo beautiful in my opinion. I am a fan of the slim A-line type, however, I was in awe when i saw myself in the Ballet.
I tried on several slim A-line gowns and they all did look great on me, however, it was the same reaction of a WOW as the ballet style. I think it may have to do with the fact that its different? It seems most people now are wearing the mermaid style, or lacey dresses or even the tulle dresses. I prefer a much simplier look.
What do you Bees think about the gown? Is it too big?

Maybe it would help if you posted a picture?

This is the Pronovias Ballet.
I LOVE how different the bodice is! My dress is really simple as well and totally not what I envisioned.
Let’s see a picture of you in it, gorgeous!

Ohh, that is a beautiful dress! I’m wearing the Almagro from the 2011 line which is fitted and covered in lace so sadly no good base for comparison. But honestly, if you feel like a million dollars in the dress then that is all that matters! Bridal trends come and go, so don’t worry about ‘what everyone is wearing’.

Here is the dress on me. Its not fitted and it was a quick photo my mom took when they weren’t looking. We were not supposed to take a photo, lol. I’m standing on a platform.

I love the shape of the dress on you, but for some reason, I’m not a fan of the bodice itself. That said, if you feel amazing in it (you certainly look amazing)…you should go for it!
I’m wearing Pronovias Bermeo from the 2012 line, and like a previous poster, mine is all lace so it’s not a helpful comparison!

I can see why you wouldn’t like the bodice. I liked it because it was different. But because its different, some may not like it. I just didn’t want the cheesy sequins or rhinestones. I also didn’t want lace because everyone wears lace. I sort of wished I had shopped a little more instead of buying it the first day of my shopping. This dress was also way under my budget but it was different and my mother loved it and kept on about it. At one point I had even stopped short of paying for it and told my mom, maybe i should look around some more. But then my mom said that all the dresses we had seen were the same. We had gone to another store and they had the same styles of dresses. She thought that I was pushing it close to get my dress. I’m getting married in Feb. I also was afraid that if I kept looking I was just going to confuse myself and then be torn between more than one dress. So because of those reasons I opted to just buy the dress. I tried it on like 10 times and each time I liked it. The main thing I don’t like about it, which is why I’m having dress regret, is the ball gown feel. I didn’t want “ball gown.” I’m hoping that when my dress comes in January they will be able to perhaps remove some of the interior lining so it doesn’t look so poofy.
Also, I have some fear that my FH won’t like it. LOL I’m pretty sure he’s not going to be a fan of the bodice or the ball gown look. He likes the A-Line style like I do, but he also doesn’t like all that excessive “bling,” like I don’t. Argh, oh well. I can’t change it now, its been paid for and there are no exchanges or refunds. Not to mention that by the time I get my dress in January I will only have a month before my wedding.
I’m just hoping that when they do the alterations and the dress fits exact I will love it! =)
