@thenextmrsi:  Pop into the Pergola thread. There are a couple of girls with pictures of their bustle in their, and plenty to offer advice too!

@thenextmrsi:  Hello fellow pergola bride! I just had my first fitting this Saturday. Hope this helps… They put two buttons at the bottom of the zipper and it just hooked into those two buttons. It didn’t take away from the skirt or look like a completely different dress.

Good luck!

I’m not sure if this will help – I don’t have a picture of the bustle alone. So I drew it to show what exactly she did (sorry for the horrible drawing). She grabbed the dress at the middle and brought it up to litterally the bottom of the zipper (the smaller line). She’ll put some buttons there. I liked this way of doing the bustle because it just has one ‘peak’ and doesn’t take away from the beauty of the bottom layer of the lace. I’m sure you’re seamstress will know more ways to bustle if you would like some variety. This way was recommended by her as well.

Best of luck!

It’s a one point American with two mini French bustles on the sides. She put one button at the top below the zipper- and for the two sides there are ribbons underneath.

My bustle is like Tifster’s, except it was lower on the sides rather than higher and it didn’t have as much of a point. She used different ribbons to attach (ivory with stripe, ivory plain, white with stripe, etc.) – you couldn’t see it at all under the dress, but it made it quick and easy to actually do the bustle without accidentally attaching it to the wrong point. I only have “action” shots of the bustle, not a direct photo – feel free to flip through beginning with this photo where we’re setting the bustle up – http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10100420666058802&set=a.10100420654736492.2410362.16114732&type=3&theater
