Hi ladies,

I’m also a Pergola bride!  I’m thinking of either the thick rhinestone belt that goes all the way around (that will hide the assymetrical waistline) or the more inverted diamond shaped belt.  I’ll be trying some on next weekend so hope to post pictures and get everybody’s opinion.

As for the bolero, I didn’t end up buying it and now I am having second thoughts.  Anyone also plannng on going without the bolero?  Not even sure if they sell it on its own anymore.

Undergarments- I plan on only doing underwear to be the most comfortable.  My seamster (is that a word?  My seamstress is a man! lol) anyhow- he is letting the dress out 1 inch and taking out a little of the boning so it’s not as stiff looking.  We’ll see what happens.

Hair- plan on wearing my hair half up half down, loose big curls.  Haven’t bought the veil and no idea what to get.

Let’s talk shoes- What is everyone wearing?  I’m not a big shoe person so I was thinking of wearing these gold strappy heals that I already own or is that a wedding no-no?  I just can’t see the logic in buying new shoes that i would probably on wear once if I have some that will look cute with the dress already.

By the way- all the pictures posted so far are just beautiful.  @ojitosverdes: Great pictures! Looks like you had a blast.

@NorC8lBride:  welcome!  It’s funny because I was your same position. I also did not purchase the bolero with the dress. I didn’t even know until I stumbled upon this blog that it came with one! It  I debated with the idea but after seeing everyone’s picture with the bolero I decided I needed to get it. I went to the Pronovias flagship store in NYC to try it on and loved it. So you can purchase it separately. You can call  or order it online from their website. I also purchased my veil from Pronovias as we’ll. I ordered my dress back in August and it finally came in two weeks ago. It fit perfectly! I am so pleased and more in love than the first time I tried it on!!

I am also thinking of wearing my hair half up, half down with some loose romantic curls. As for shoes, I am still in search of the perfect pair. I’ll post some pictures in a future post when I get on my computer as I am on my phone now lol

when it comes to your wedding there are no rules except for the ones you make for yourself! If you don’t need to splurge on a new pair of shoes and are happy and satisfied with the ones you have at home I say go for it! i guess it all depends on personal preference. Look forward to seeing pictures!

@srslovebug:  Hi, I had mine in optical white and it was lovely 🙂

I got my seamstress to sew a veil around mine rather than wear a bolero, was cheap and went with the look I was after!

Hello bees! I got married in September 28, 2013. I originally “pinned” this dress when I was still searching. I ended up ordering the 3rd dress I tried on at the bridal salon, another Pronovias but the design escapes me at the moment. When I got home, I checked up on my Pinterest page and came across this dress again and could not stop thinking about it. So, I immediately called the bridal salon and since they haven’t actually placed the order for the dress, they let me come back in to try the Pergola and it was LOVE! There was no turning back then and I am so happy I eneded up with my dream dress.

I initially wanted to have a bolero sinch I really wanted the Princess Kate-ish look. That was an unsuccessful search but I was still very happy.

As for the belt, I went to downtown Los Angeles and found exactly the belt of my liking. Think and it had tiny pearls in them. My Mom just sewn it on a thick ribbon from Hobby Lobby, tied it around my waist on the day off then tucked in the rest of the ribbon inside the belt.

The veil was also hand made by my Mom. Just 3 yards of fine tulled from Joann’s fabric sewn in with a comb. The edge was just raw, nothing special. 🙂

mich605:  my first fitting went really well, the dress was a little big which was an awesome surprise because I, like everyone probably, was afraid of it not fitting! We took the dress in at the first fitting and worked out the bustle on the second appointment. Good luck in your fitting!!

Hi ladies, absolutely love this feed, love seeing all the beautiful brides in their dress! I am a pergola bride, my first dress fitting is at the end of May. The shop I purchased my dress from doesn’t store the dress for you so my dress is currently in my mum’s house (to prevent me trying it on every day!). However, I have tried it on twice at my mum and im unsure what to do with the bolero, unsure if to wear it the classic way, backwards and maybe just not at all! I’ve added some pictures below of when I tried my dress on, any advice would be appreciated ladies, thanks. X

Hi Girls!

I’m so excited you all are wearing the Pergola too!

My wedding is coming up fast- I wanted mine hemmed but my seamstress doesn’t want to do it, she told me to get higher heels Arghh! I’ve had a heck of a time with seamstresses and this one is semi-retired..

what color veil did you ladies go with?
