Looking over this thread makes me want to travel to the bridal store and try mine on again – just so I can see it!

Who’s next getting married of all the pergola brides?

Wow ladies! You are all so beautiful! I really appreciate everyone’s posts- because of all the great ideas AND the much needed pergola “fix”. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Okay, get ready for picture overload….

This weekend I had a consultation with my seamstress and we covered a lot of bases. We looked at the applique I’m getting sewn on. I found a veil… the lace isn’t identical, but I LOVE it. πŸ™‚ There are two veils pictured here… but I am going with the one that is in front of my face and I will have my father fold it back. It’s elbow length in the front and goes down to the back of my knees in the back. I’m sorry I don’t have a picture of how long it is in the back- but I truly don’t think it takes away from the lace on the gown at all… especially since the train goes on much longer anyway. Oh, and the flash in the last pictures made the veil look whiter than the dress, but it actually matches perfectly.

I am also getting the back cut to a “V”… it looks a little funny in the picture because she just temporarily folded in the corners, but it will end up as a regular V- just like intrepida_ets‘s alterations. πŸ™‚  I’m having hooks put onto the bolero so it will stay connected to the dress.

We also decided on the bustle. It’s an american/french combined. I’m very happy with it.  πŸ™‚

I still need to tone up a bit so the stomach area doesn’t pucker in the front, but I have about 3 more months, so fingers are crossed.

Oh and I got my earrings! Found a steal on ebay. πŸ™‚

Sorry all the pics are such poor quality, but here they are! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

@OoOTifsterOoO:  Oh wow! That looks amazing! Where are the hooks going on the bolero? At the back or underneath the arms? I’m curious because I’m thinking of doing the same, but don’t want to put them anywhere that will tug the lace!

@OoOTifsterOoO:  Oh WOW! You look incredible πŸ™‚ It’s great to see you with all your “bling” too! I love your bustle, I think I might show my alterations lady when the time comes, I really couldn’t imagine how I could have a bustle that would work, but yours looks lovely. Love love love your earrings too. Mine are quite similar in size but sort of a different shape – I was worried they might look a bit much but yours look great so I feel so much better!

I’m curious about how you’ve attached your bolero too, so be aure to let us all know….also, are you wearing a crinoline or a hoop under there, or is it au naturale? 7 weeks until my fitting this Friday!

@OoOTifsterOoO:  How long without “reading” about you!!! I love all the alterations you are going to do!!! You look absolutely georgeus on the pergola, and for sure the v back its a right decision!! I fell hillarious when I saw my dress with the alteration!!! I can’t wait till July 3th that I will have the next fitting, with the chest tight, becouse in the last fitting it was to big for me and it didn’t look good!I also love your rings they are georgeous!!and the mixed american-french bustle, stunning! Congratulations!!! when will you have your dress with the alterations done???

Finally I am not going to wear a veil, because I am going to marry on a winnery in the country. I am going to wear this georgeos (at least for me Wink) Doloris Petunia bandeau, and a simple diamond earrings from my granmother (made only by two stones) . What do you think?

Can’t wait to see the bandeau in person!! πŸ™‚

 and my shoes arrived three weeks ago, they are the badgley misckha randee, and I bought them to on bee of this boad… I was in love with that shoes, but in person they are more beautifull if this is posible :

@brittaful:

I was wondering the same thing, but according to my photographer, she thinks so.  She says she has seen it all before and to practice walking around on the sand in them before the wedding day.  I’m actually going to have a feather aisle to walk on along the beach, so I hope that helps. Fingers crossed!

Thanks everyone for your kind words!!! πŸ™‚ I’m very, very happy! Although I just found out that the veil I liked is waaaayy over budget. It’s half the cost of the dress!!! I will keep shopping around before I commit to spending so much on something I’ll only wear for the ceremony. :-/

@Nellop & AnnieGrace: I’m not exactly sure of her plan for the hooks, but she did make it sound like there will be several so that it is pulled evenly all around… And I think I even heard her say “snaps” not hooks… but I will let you know when I know for sure. Also, there is no hoop.. it’s natural, but my seamstress is going to add pieces of stiffer crinoline to ensure it doesn’t fall. I had purchased a hoop, thinking I would need it- but my seamstress really argued against it because she’d have to cut the satin lining underneath. She is sure that a few added layers of crinoline would get the job done.

@brittaful: I can’t beleive how awesome your wedding was. Your pictures look like they are right out of a magazine… in an article called “DIY Queen”, lol! Seriously, I love everything you did- it was so beautiful, and so were you!!! I bet you have one happy husband!  As the creator of this thread you definitely deserve an e-round-of-applause! πŸ™‚ Best wishes to you and your new hubby.

intrepida_ets: LOVE the shoes and hair piece. They both bring yet another beautiful style to the pergola. I can’t wait to see it all put together at your fitting! πŸ™‚ You will be stunning! My alterations will come in stages– first the added fullness to the bottom, and then the “V”, then the bolero– so I’m not sure of any dates… it’s agonizing! Lol, I just want it to be done and I want to wear it every day. Lol!! πŸ™‚

@Ms. Darko: I also love both of your shoes! I think you will be fine on the sand– especially with the aisle cover. Just walk slowly so you’re prepared for any sinking. And the Jimmy Choos– WOW! absolutely perfect for the pergola! πŸ™‚ Great choice!

@OoOTifsterOoO:

I have a feeling that the steamstress at the bridal store I’m using will end up adding more layers of stiffer crinoline as well.  You’ll have to let us know how yours turns out. πŸ™‚

Oh oh, I have my shoes too, finally something I can actually post!

These are my ceremony shoes, which I just learned are on sale πŸ™ Oh well, they were still a good deal to begin with and I liked that they were leather, they’re 11cm so they make me super tall!

RAJANI

And here are my reception shoes, also Badgley Mischka, I was worried whether the blue would go with the dress but when they arrived thay were perfect! If I had bought these first I probably wouldn’t have bothered with the others but I do love them both. These are a much more comfy 8cm πŸ™‚

It’s these shoes

Love everyone’s shoe choices! Love all the new posts too, keep up the good work ladies πŸ™‚
