Uhhhh… was it in the family plot or something?  Did your Darling Husband get one too?

Ummm…that is too eerie beyond words.  I would be totally creeped out.  What did your Husband think??!

Hmmm. Actually if it’s near other family members then that’s a pretty good gift and she might actually like you… unless she knows you don’t want a ground burial or something. My dad’s plot was $7k; those things aren’t cheap.

Lol wow! That sucks, but I’m sorry it’s kind of funny. Like something you’d see in a sitcom.

Is there a nice spin to this? Is the plot located with the rest of the family plots? That could be kind of sweet in a weird and macabre way.

Is this part of/next to his family’s plot? I actually think that’s really sweet. A little morbid. But sweet. I’d take it as her welcoming you into the family and wanting you to be with them forever. Again, a little creepy, maybe, but ultimately sweet and welcoming. At least that’s how I’d look at it.

@Tess63110:  Actually, your Mother-In-Law has inadvertently given you a terrific gift – the story of how your new Mother-In-Law gave you a cemetery plot for Christmas is going to be a party favorite for years to come. You will top just about every Mother-In-Law story out there.

Did your husband get one too or just you?

@JenGirl:  +1 I think its sweet – if it is near the family plot. I would have made a joke about it though, because it is a very odd gift!

Oohh wow. I’d be watching my back if I were you. Don’t eat or drink anything she gives you.

TBH, if it’s in their family plot I think it’s a rather sweet gift. If it’s just a random plot then yeah… That’s kind of weird.

Did she give your husband the adjoining plot, or is yours just by its little lonesome?
