@fabulous, you look awesome! I can already tell the Pronovias reception dress you chose is going to look great on you too.
@fabulous – Thank you so much for posting those picts!! I’m wearing the lia/726 dress as well, and I was begining to have doubts b/c I felt like every pict is of some 5’0″ size 2 girl. But you rocked it and have given me confidence to rock it too (my dress is also a size 16)!!! Thank you so much!!!
ugh…i am getting SERIOUS envy over you hot curvy girls in these amazing pics. i was always very slim (5’8″ and size 2-4) until i transferred colleges in fall 2008 and found i had almost no control over what i ate thanks to our one small cafeteria, plus the stress was more than i have ever experienced by a long shot. i went up to a size 8, except it didn’t add extra “curve”, it just gave me a double chin, a stomach pouch, thunder thighs, and flabby arms (i had ALWAYS had very toned arms and legs, so this really upset me!) 🙁 my A-cup boobs stayed the same. so far i’ve managed to go down about a size but it has been HARD. i really wish my body would be amenable to being curvy, because growing up i always found curvy women to be the hottest, ie salma hayek and penelope cruz (and now, all of you sexy bees! haha)! instead it just insists on sitting in that ugly spot between skinny and flabby. boo.
meliss- Thanks!! That reception dress I picked is actually a similar shape to this one, except with no tulle under the skirt. I’m excited to see it.
volleybride- Thank you!!!! I was concerned too because it seemed there were not many girls our size wearing this dress. However, I felt so beautiful in it the day of the wedding. I have no regrets! If you want to see more photos of me in it, PM me and I can send you my photos! I can’t wait to see YOU in the dress!
@vegan: i bet you look amazing!!! trust me!!! btw did you see the picture of me in the other trumpet? there was more gut and less sexy mama so believe me when I say that every cut of a dress is not made equally!! and i wouldn’t dare try on the lia because errr this girl needs ruching where it can be given lol!!!
This dress was a little big when I tried it on – so it’s not very tight around the curves…but I think it still falls into mermaid status. I’m 5’4″ and I’m carrying lots of extra pounds 🙂 I’ve lost over 20 so far though! I hope to lose 40 more before July but we’ll see. 🙂
I think the mermaid looks good as long as you’re not rectangle shape…If you’ve got a high wasitline they’re really flattering. I think the way they poof out at the bottom makes your top half smaller too…
love it love bug!!! congrat on the weignt loss
@crebre Thank you, hun! 🙂
ok..so im going to have to join in..
I have always been a thin but curvy girl (i am Cuban so maybe it is genetics?) and now i have gained some weight after having a baby and a VERY stressful job..but here i am!
Oh my Future Mother-In-Law totally hates my curves and she has even gone to the extreme to tell me that it looks vulgar for me to wear a dress like this..ha! i try not to let it upset me but sometimes that just stings! I just keep remembering that her son is the one that likes, no..LOVES my curves and thats what matters!
elliemae, your f.m.i.l sounds cruel…I feel for you, I really do. What a mean spirited person you have to deal with. You look gorgeous in that beautiful dress an it’s a very tasteful an classy look- wear the dress, I think she is just jealous and hateful.
vulgar huh? i think it’s because you look SEXY!! i love that dress on you!!!! you absolutely glow in it..
She’s just jealous! You look awesome in that dress! My god, never doubt that! That dress is so beautiful on you. Sexbomb sex bomb… lol
ellie- WTF is wrong with your FMIL?? I seriously don’t knowm what I would do if my Mother-In-Law told me she didn’t like my body. I hope she is not implying you are fat. You look beautiful and that dress looks incredible!
