Apophylite:  Well me and my SO have been discussing this for a while now (couple years) and we decided to have him propose with a temp(filler) ring, but idk when or how so it’ll still be a suprise 🙂

And then soon after we’ll pick out the real deal together.

Fiance first brought up ring shopping soon after we got an apartment together, although I already knew we were planning on getting married at some point (we’d talked in terms of “when” instead of “if” for a long time). He wanted to make absolutely sure I loved my ring, so he wanted to take me with him to look at different styles. A few months after that we finally went to a jeweler, I got sized, and picked out a setting and type of gold to have it set in. I told him he could choose the stone himself, just giving him a size limit (I prefer smaller stones, so I didn’t want him going overboard!), and then the real waiting began! It was a little over a year later that the ring finally made its appearance, and I couldn’t have been more surprised! I loved being able to choose the setting myself, but I still got a sweet surprise proposal which was wonderful.

Apophylite:  we talked about marriage and had some wedding plans already decided. Then we designed my ring on Gemvara. I knew when it came in but i had no idea how he would propose. well he sat on that ring for over two months so I completely forgot all about it. Then he planned a lovely proposal and I was totally surprised and so excited to see the ring in person. No matter how much you think you know what it is going to look like until it is on your finger your have no idea. It was great!
