younikkitome :  That guy must know nothing about diamonds.   My diamond sparkles rainbows in the sunlight 🙂

hyacinthandlavender :  I know right, I made the mistake of telling my FH about it and he has threatened to do it as a joke. I told him if he does I have picked an antique right hand ring that costs $5k he’ll be buying me as the dumbass penalty.

This sort of happened to me with my previous husband. We were casually “ring shopping” and choosing some things I liked In his budget.  Then all of a sudden he was buying it!  It was such a surprise.  He did make me wait two months for the “real” proposal but his buying a ring sealed the deal!

I think it’s sweet! I would prefer that as opposed to buying a ring together and then waiting for a “proposal” later, as that concept has never made sense to me (nothing against it, just not for me).

Who cares as long as he does it. It’s worse when they buy the ring and he sticks it in his sock drawer for 8 months.

I am going to choose to believe that they are so incredibly in love that they couldn’t stand being boyfirend and girlfriend for one more moment. OR maybe he proposed to her without a ring in a cute way, and then they went to choose a ring together and he asked again. Who knows? All I can say is that I hope they’re super happy together and I wish them all the best, because finding the person you’re meant to be with forever is something that not everyone is blessed to experience in their lifetime.

yogabride2018 :  I 100% agree. No judgment at all. Maybe he wasn’t comfortable picking out a ring for her, and they wanted to do it together or something.

Or maybe they were dating a long time and kind of knew engagement/marriage would be a thing, so one day they just made it official. Either way, Good for them!

I wouldn’t like it for myself, but if it made both of them happy, more power to ’em!
