  • poll: How much effort are you putting into prepping for the proposal?

All glammed up from sun up to sun down.

Hair done, makeup done, but nothing too flashy.

Meh, I could care less how I look, I just want it to happen!

haha I used to keep my nails up but when we bought our house last month there was so much to do that keeping my nails nice seemed like a waste of time so now I could care less. Im like just DO IT ALREADY!

    Aw you’re adorable πŸ™‚

I haven’t quite been prepping yet on a regular basis yet – but that’s because I have about a 8-day stretch that Im 99% sure my Boyfriend or Best Friend will propose… while we’re on holidays at the end of the month πŸ™‚ I have already been thinking about what I will wear each day, since I first realized that’s when and where it’ll happen several months ago!! Im def planning a manicure before we depart too LOL!! Im sure each day we’re away I’ll be spending way too long on my hair and makeup πŸ™‚

Most of us only get a proposal once and Im sure it’ll be even more amzing if you feel sexy when it happens πŸ™‚

Lol! My DH proposed right after I stepped out of the shower! No makeup, no clothes, sopping wet hair. No prepping for me!

I was doing that for about 2 months, after my now Fiance told me that “he’s been patiently waiting to spend his life with me”.  So on the day that he surprised me with a hot air balloon ride for my birthday, I thought, THIS IS IT!  But…yet again, nothing.  I was a bit disappointed thinking that this proposal was never going to happen.  We got home that afternoon. I pull my hair up, change into comfy clothes to take a nap (i.e. no bra and shirt inside out)….I was a hot mess…when he calls my name.  Into the living room I go, expecting nothing, and he had set up candles, roses, and was down on one knee.  At that moment…I felt so silly for always preparing for this “fairytale” proposal, when the reality was that I cherished that moment between us privately and that I was so surprised.  I will say that my nails were done though for those after ring shots hahaha.  So I completely understand your situation and although I would tell you to try not to think about it, I know that it is hard.  Just know that in that moment, no matter how you look, when a man confesses that he wants nothing more than to spend forever with you, you will feel BEAUTIFUL!

When I was waiting, I always made sure my nails looked nice. The day he proposed, I was dressed to the nines, but that wasn’t because I knew he would ask or anything… It was Valentine’s Day and it was a complete surprise.

My nails almost always look nice, it’s a hobby of mine so that was never an issue.  I always thought I wanted to be looking cute and wearing a dress and such…. but he completely surprised me doing it at a car club event so I was just wearing denim capris and a tank top and honestly… i didn’t care one bit!

haha! I haven’t been prepping yet either but that is because I know the ring is not ready yet. Give me another 6 weeks and I will be going crazy getting all dolled up. I already get my nails done every two weeks though so that won’t be anything new. However I feel like my SO will end up proposing me one random tuesday night while I’m brushing my teeth or plucking my eyebrows or shaving the underarms. I honestly wouldn’t put it past him.

Haha, I understand where you are coming from.  I’ve made sure to keep my hands and nails in good condition for the last few months especially.  Other than that though, I’m not doing too much prepping at the moment because I know that even though he has picked the ring, he does not have it yet… So I think I still have a couple more months!  I’m sure though that starting at the end of this month, everytime we’re going out on a weekend or night out, I’ll be making sure I’m dressed nice and made up well.

When I thought it was going to happen, I became obsessed with having my nails always looking perfect. I started getting my nails done professionally. At first I went every two weeks, then every week… it started consuming me. Months went by and a hundreds of dollars later, my nails were weakened and there was no proposal in sight.

Now, my nails look like crap and I’m still waiting.

Meh, I’m really not doing anything special to be ready. I just want it to happen! I don’t think i could go through the build up every weekend only to find out I went all that prepping for nothing. Its hard enough just wishing it would happen but knowing it won’t even though the ring is in the house and he could do it at any moment!

I made no effort to prep because although we picked out the ring together, I never knew when he went to pick it up. Since he proposed after we (and our daughter) had been out climbing mountains in the desert, I was dressed in capri’s, tank top and I didnt’ do much with make up b/c I knew it’d be hot lol!

THis is great! I have been doing this for a while now. Its exhausting lol!! I found out about a ring purchase back in february and started prepping every weekend with a dress every time we went out and my nails and hair always done… BUT now that it is AUGUST and still WAITING ive kind of given up.. Its getting a bit rediculous to be waiting this long and driving myselft nuts. I am 99% sure that he is still paying off the ring and that is what Im waiting on. But I think this is completely normal we have to be prepped. Now the only thing is I am definetely keeping up with my nails. I also got the shellac gel at home lamp and what not. Its so easy I love shellac!!! Its so much cheaper to keep up with at home. I am just really hoping for some small hints or signs for when my day is really coming and I will be fully prepped. πŸ™‚ We’re girls I couldnt imagine not prepping if you thought a proposal was coming.
