I swore I would wait until 14DPO, but I was SO convinced I was pregnant on 11DPO that I tested early at 12DPO… And I was!

But I had a WAY darker line at 14DPO than at 12DPO.

@PatientBee:  I tested the day I missed my period and I had no doubt.

In other months I tested before but I got so annoyed seeing bfns. Also, I’m glad I don’t know if I’ve had a chemical. I just avoided having tests in the house so I couldn’t test!

Definitely wait until you are late, as hard as it is. I tested early (my cycle was short so the day I was due for AF I tested) and was paranoid. It’s hard to be patient but it will pay off. Good luck!

I know what you mean. I am 12 dpo and I want to test tomorrow but I am changing my mind to wait until I miss AF. No point in testing but it is hard to convince myself since by 13 dpo, most likely you will know if you pregnant or not.

  • possible to get a BFP, which would be awesome

  • more likely to get a BFN, which sucks, and doesn’t really tell you anything because you just might be testing too early to catch the HCG.
  • can be expensive, depending on what type of test you’re using and how many days in a row you test.
  • can be demoralizing if you get a BFN, even though you know you might still get a BFP later.

To me, it’s pretty clear that there are way more cons to testing early. But….that possible pro of getting a BFP is hard to resist, lol. I say, wait if you can, and if you can’t, just know that testing early is just not as reliable as if you wait a few more days. FX for you to get a BFP whichever way you choose to test!

@PatientBee:  personally the only negative thing for me was the cost of testing– which wasn’t that much since I used internet cheapies.

I started testing at 9dpo which was too early… but it was pretty exciting to see potential squinters (at 10) turn into lines around 12dpo. Testing kept me sane even when negative. Waiting drove me crazy.

@PatientBee:  I would wait until AF is due to test. Last cycle I waited until AF was late 6 days to test and it turned to be a chemical pregnancy, I got AF about 11-12 days late. Even if you test late, it could still be a cp. If is a sticky baby everything will be fine 🙂 Just test the day AF is due

@PatientBee:  I waited until my period was a day or two late, cycle day 31 and I am SO glad I did. I DID NOT want to see a BFN or even a squinter. I also “felt pregnant” (cramps but no period for several days, which I’ve never had before, I always just get cramps the day my period starts or starting the day after). Anyway, the line was SO dark, darker than the control! I loved seeing that dark, definite line.  It was our 3 or 4th cycle trying and I am totally guilty of testing early that first month just because I was so excited, but it really sucked seeing those BFNs. I know how you feel, but I totally advise waiting, even though it sucks, it’s way better, I think. Good luck to you!!!
