@stumbleine87: I deal only with Paypal because if something goes wrong, they will step in and resolve it. The most typical situation I/my family have ever had is on the buyer side, where we buy something off of ebay or another reputable site and the item that arrives is not correct or is in some way in different condition than what was listed.

I’m currently dealing with PayPal about someone breaking into my account. They are helpful…but it’s taking a long time. I had about $300 stolen…and only had about $250 in my account…so I have to deal with my bank and overdraft charges. This happened on September 24th…and I’m still -$50 in my bank account…which sucks. The worst part is, they keep treating my like it’s my fault. Like I went around giving my password out to strangers on the street or something. I’ve talked to about 4 different people from their customer service, and 2 of them have been helpful. Grr.

I purchased a used dress just last month via escrow.com. neither the seller or i had used it before but we both liked the extra layers of protection. i was nervous that there wasnt enough that paypal could have really done in a timely manner had she decided to take my oney and not shipped the dress. if i were in your shoes i think i would press the other party to look into the information on escrow.com and use it instead. the information on their website is easy to understand it just takes someone being willing to try something new. good luck!

I’m actually going through the same situation. There is a gorgeous Pnina Tornai that would be $13,000 if I bought it at Kleinfelds, but I found it on preownedweddingdresses.com for a lot less. The seller lives in Canada and she wants to use paypal. Would I be protected if the dress isn’t an authentic Pnina Tornai? I’ve just never used paypal to buy something so expensive, and I’m nervous of getting scammed. Any advice?

I’ve used PayPal many times with sellers who were one time sellers.  Escrow.com is fairly new to me though.
