Hi! I am trying to keep our budget for this baby shower I can’t attend at 100$. I’m buying a “Playard” from Cambridge (it looks like a crib). There is a 15$ warranty that is optional. I also got a 6$ book for a card.
Should I get this protection plan? I don’t want to be rude if I don’t but I also don’t know if it’s totally not worth it.
i don’t have kids so I don’t know what this item is honestly or how liable it is to break

Lol I thought this post was gonna be about condoms or something based on the title.
I wouldn’t bother with the warranty. But then I never bother with warranties so I dunno.

I wouldn’t. What if it breaks and they don’t use the warranty? You’d also have to give them the receipt..i just wouldn’t bother.

If you mean the SquareTrade protection plan by Toys ‘R Us, it basically extends the manufacturer’s warranty by an additional year. Honestly, I think it’s a rip-off:
– By the time the manufacturer’s warranty expires, most kids are already mobile and don’t enjoy being contained in a playpen
– it’s 15% of the price of this item
– you don’t know if the baby would like the playard in the first place – your gift may end up being passed on to another child, but the service plan isn’t transferrable
– barring defects, those things are pretty much indestructible.

I would not expect anyone to purchase a warranty for a gift!
