Ummm my 3 stone ring is being held in customs… Ruby says they have not called her – and maybe they will?

Ladies!  He totally surprised me and gave me the ring on our anniversay instead of waiting for our trip to Italy!  We were having a family birthday BBQ for our son and our DIL and after we sang to both of them it was time for presents. He got everyone’s attention and made the most beautiful speach to our family!  Even though we have been together for 20 years and married for 17 he NEVER proposed to me on one knee.  We were both each divorced and living together with my oldest son that was 8 and our son that was  1.5 when we decided to get married and planned it in a couple of months but the propsoal was just never there!  Saturday was our marriage annivrsary (we got married the day after our son turned 2) and like always the attention was on him and my DIL as there bdays are 1 day apart. I cooked all day and was just having a great time with family.  I was totally surprised as I was 100% sure it would happen in Italy!  Sorry for the rambling!  LOL  Here she is!  Three shanks for our 3 boys! (excuse the nails!)

I have a couple good updates on my 3 Stone Saga..

The ring was stuck in customs, but I found the customs contact information & sent it to Ruby who called on my behalf, and they have to pay $18 then they will have the ring delivered.

I also got my CADs for the 3/4 eternity band & my Dahlia inspired ring.

Please help me with the CADs. I’ve got to be more critical this time. lol I’ve studied it and to me it looks great. What are your thoughts?

youmaysayimadreamer :  yes it was the sweetest thing ever!  Everyone was in tears!  The only one missing was our oldest son that is deployed at the moment.  Glad he decided to do it then with our parents, siblings and closest cousins.

nemi :  Too incredibly sweet!! That ring is beautiful ๐Ÿ˜

youmaysayimadreamer :  glad they were able to track it down!

I think the band looks good. The Dahlia looks like it’s almost there. The only critique I have, based on the inspo ring, is the shape of the petals. The CAD has more narrow, angular petals. I wonder if they can round them out more?

blackpink :  Oh I really like how it looks on your finger! What a sweet treat for yourself! It’s definitely on my wish list! Enjoy her ๐Ÿ˜Š Thanks for taking the time to post pics!

hm2012 :  Thank you. I sent Ruby this image with a brief explanation and she said she understands so hopefully I’ll get the updated version tonight.

youmaysayimadreamer :  I am sad to say that my stone is rattling and loose!
I immediately sent Flora a message this morning and sent her a video as well with a picture of the date stamp that I received the ring on Saturday.  She apologized and said they would take care of it. She will speak to the production manager tomorrow and let me know how we can get this resolved. I am assuming I will need to send it back and it will need to be redone.  I told her I think the stone is sitting to high from the Halo and the prongs are just not big and long enough to hold the 3ct stone in place she agreed.  I explained that my husband was highly upset that I will not have my ring fixed by the time we take our trip to Italy and she said I would.

May I ask how did you send the ring back and any recommendations on how to do it?  I LOVE my ring and I am terrified it will be lost in route to China.

nemi :  Oh no.. I shipped it with USPS priority international insured. Edited to add: it cost $50.

So Ruby told me to just put that it was worth $50 and I think that may have been why it was held at customs. She said they had to pay $18 and it would be delivered to them. They still don’t have it. I sent it out on July 3 so it’s been exactly 2 weeks.

I will tell you that with the hassle of shipping and the stress of it possibly being confiscated for the false value, I’d just get it fixed locally. If my stone was the only issue with the ring (I had to also get it resized to the correct size) I would’ve just had a local jeweler do it.

The only way I was told I could receive my credit for the shipping costs was that it’d be reduced from my next project. If you don’t plan to have anymore pieces made with them, then I’d just cut my losses and get it tightened here.

I’m also thinking I need to get the rings appraised and get them insured. For possible lost stones & for maintenance purposes.

Anyone have any thoughts about how/where to get moissanite jewelry appraised for a decent dollar amount?

On another note, I did get the CAD updated. I also have changed the bottom thickness to 1.5mm on both rings.updatecad

youmaysayimadreamer :  UGH I am deathly afraid of it being lost!  I wil wait to see what she says but after I have thouroghly inspected the ring I am afraid the stone is way too high off the halo and the prongs are just too small for the size of the stone.

I will go to a local jewler to get their opinion on it.  Hard to show in pics but I have added them here for you to see.
