YES. It's my body and I have the right to wear what I want. : (5 votes)

NO. It's her holiday as well and it will cause less hassle if I don't wear it. : (21 votes)

hmmm…well. If you say that it is skimpy even by your standards then maybe pack it but bring another one to wear around her. Why ruin your vacation having to listen to her complain about your swimsuit. But if you get time away from her, wear the other one!

If you’re going on vacation with his family, I think you should probably wear something a little less skimpy.

Yeah, I would save the skimpy bikini for when you’re vacationing with just your Darling Husband. I would try to wear something more conservative around his mom.

I would pass on the skimpy bikini, but you could ask your hubby what he thinks.

I agree with all the other bees.  If it’s skimpy by your standards, then it’s only going to cause tension with her conservative standards…if you want a peaceful and tension free vacation, I would say go with something a little less skimpy.

I posted in the other thread, but I’ll post it here too.

I wouldn’t wear the skimpy bikini but I also wouldn’t go all the way to a one-piece suit.  Get a more modest bikini or a tankini or something that you will still find cute and comfortable but your Mother-In-Law won’t find so inappropriate.

Mosest doesn’t mean you have to wear a one piece lol…

I guess I’d just buy a wrap/sarong/coverup for when you’re out of the water. Most bikinis/swimsuits that I feel like flatter my body cost a ton, so I wouldn’t be too excited to buy another one. Now if it is like a thong, maybe just buy different (cheaper Walmart) bottoms for your trip with the in-laws.
