My fiancee wants the dress to be a secret. She’s out of town and wanted me to send her some photos of our pets. I took some pictures with our digital camera and went to load them on my computer. I saw some photos of what looked like a makeup trial, then I saw the very bottom of a photo with a pair of feet and the hem of a white dress (she had a fitting last week). I am not the kind of person to spoil a surprise, so I closed the window before I saw any more! (I’m lucky she took so many photos of the makeup trial or I would have definitely seen the dress.)
The moral of the story is, brides, if you don’t want your fiance to see the dress before the wedding, be very careful with any digital photos you may take!

Oh already know this!!! I have a secret board on pinterest so he can’t snoop.
I also have decoy dresses set up so if he finds those he things those are it but they aren’t
I don’t think he’d snoop plus him being abroad helps.
I did think of planing a funny joke on him and putting on a hedious dress and “accidently” sending him the pics as alteration pics lol.

My fiance is adament that the dress be a surprise. Like, he doesn’t want to see me in any wedding dress. When my mother wanted me to try on hers, he ran from the house because he wants everything about that day to be a surprise. I have pictures of my dress on my ipad, and it drives him crazy. Thankfully, I save a gazillion pictures so the dress pics are buried, but he’s still nervous whenever he needs to use the camera. He started scrolling once while looking at other pictures and encountered the back of a different dress, threw the ipad at me, and ran out of the room like a kid. Lol.
Boys are cute.

Yea, I have pictures on my phone, but I deleted all the ones off the camera. I have folders clearly marked wedding stuff on them on my computer, so he knows not to snoop. In fact, I have pictures of a bunch of dresses I tried on, and he knows it, so even if he DID come across a pic, he wouldn’t know if it’s the one. My dress has been hanging in different closets in our house for months, and he does NOT want to see it. He’s really adamant about seeing it for the first time ON me ON the day, so I’m not worried about peeking 🙂
*siiigh* two more weeks!

I showed my Fiance a slideshow of all of the dresses I tried on on our TV 😛 I’m not too worried about it being a suprise, he can’t remember what it looks like even when I ask him. The only thing he wants is to not actually see me in the dress until the wedding which should be easy.

I’ve been very careful.
i even let him borrow my external hard drive where i store ALL of my pictures. he wanted photos for the rehearsal dinner slide show. i said you cannot look in one folder. i believed he didn’t look because he doesn’t even like if i mention the dress is white. he says, too much detail, i don’t want to know.

@Fanciful: your Fiance is hilarious and adorable!
My FH insists that he’s coming dress shopping with the girls…but still wants the dress be a surprise. He wants to see me try on a million dresses, but he doesn’t want me to announce “the one” when I pick it. He’s delusional.
I’m going to take him along and try on huge cupcake dresses since he hates ballgowns. That should leave him disappointed enough that my actual dress selection will end up a very pleasant surprise during our first look.

I made that mistake too!! Luckily on our wedding day, he said it was still pretty much a surprise, with my dress fitted (the dress I ordered turned out to be wayyy too big before alterations!), all of my accessories, my hair & makeup did, and my birdcage veil. But still – wish I hadn’t been so dumb to leave those photos on the camera!

I have pictures on my phone, but they’re in a special album called “DRESS PICTURES – J DON’T LOOK” and the first picture in the album is just a white MS paint thing I made that says the same thing”, although my mom ALMOST spoiled it by showing Fiance a picture of their dog on her phone, and for some reason she has a picture of me in my dress from when we bought it as her lock screen. What a nerd.

I hid my phone from Darling Husband for MONTHS. He was like “Man. I get why girls feel crazy when guys do this now. I know why I can’t see it, but it’s awful!”

My mom is the guilty party in this. I have my dress pictures buried deep in my email so my Fiance can’t see them scrolling through my pics. But my mom has them on her phone. So far my dad and my brother have seen them. I have stressed to her that she ought to delete them, but I’m not too fussed about it because Fiance is unlikely to ever be scrolling through my mom’s phone!

@StL.Ashley: It’s for that reason alone my mother wasn’t allowed to take any photos of me when she saw me in the dress, lol.

I had to start refusing to show ppl a pic of my dress when they asked bec one person said this ‘oh its a lace mermaid! How gorgeous!’ Right in the presence of Fiance. I said shhhh! He hasn’t seen it yet and its supposed to be a surprise. She said ‘what, r u being all traditional? Hmph.’ So now, when ppl ask, I say I have no photos of it. But I think its too late, Fiance already knows pretty much, he just hasn’t seen the exact details of the dress.

I now know what the bottom 6-12″ of her dress looks like. I don’t know if I should tell her I saw this or not. I’ll probably just keep my mouth shut, but I don’t want to connect the camera again lest I give into temptation.

@letigre: The funny part is when we were engaged, he would watch SYTTD with me and comment about how of course he wanted to go shopping with me because he’s so dang oppinionated. Talk about a 180.
