Well, I just got done with my last final! Yay! But now that the semester is over, that means selling back textbooks and buying new ones for next semester (unless you graduated, congrats!). So, I thought I’d post a little bit about my textbook experience.
Buy and sell online. Seriously. Well of course, compare prices, just in case your school’s bookstore(s) are cheaper. But 98% of the time, online is cheaper, even with shipping figured in. I make a profit by doing this. I’ve made a $100 profit on one of my books. Textbooks should not be a money drain- most books I break about even on, with an occasional small profit or loss. Every now and then I take a huge loss, but I think in general I’ve come out on top. A lot of people think it’s a hassle, but it’s not, I promise! And it will save you so much money.
I know some people already do this, but just a reminder to those who don’t 🙂 I personally use half.com, but amazon.com is good as well, and I know there are other discount book websites to use. If anyone wants helping setting up an account and selling on half.com, PM me and I’d love to help. 🙂
