this is sort of a spinoff thread – BalletParker put it in my mind how important it is to know how to deal with possible attacks of bad health, especially in this stressful and busy season!
If anyone here has allergies requiring an epipen, make sure you have it with you at parties and that at least one other person knows both where it is and is familiar with how to use it (Has recently read the instructions and mimed them out). If you have any expired epipens, it’s a great idea to use them on oranges to practice the amount of force it takes to make it click!
If you will be around your parents, grandparents, or any other older friends and family – know the signs of heart attack and stroke.
Both of these conditions often come with denial, so it’s important for loved ones to know the signs and how serious it can be! The faster a person gets treatment, the better outcomes. And remember – women often (though not always) present symptoms other than pain or that left arm tingling which are so often present in men having heart attacks. Make sure you know the address of anywhere you are at a party or staying for a visit in case you have to make an emergency call – and if they have a landline it’s best to make an emergency call on that in case the call drops, they can trace it to the address quicker than you can call back.
