I’m bumping this because I’m hoping maybe one of the hostesses could tell us if it affects us here.

what amazes me is how people think putting the website’s name into their passwords is safe *headdesk*

Oooh, yeah, a friend told me about this yesterday, so I changed it right away. Better safe than sorry. I couldn’t remember what my password was anyway.

Thanks for the memo! I just told SO to make sure he changes his LinkedIn password.

Ugh! I saw that. I changed my password.

As far as your membership here, I don’t see an immediate reason to worry, as you don’t log in here with your email address (as you do on your LinkedIn), but rather with a username.

However, when junk like this happens, it never hurts to take a precaution and change your password if you’re worried. I’m just not seeing a direct link to our site, as the email address associated with your account isn’t made available. If you use that same email address/password login combination on another site, you might consider changing it. I’m thinking right now about where else I use that same combo, too.Embarassed

@hisgoosiegirl:  I agree. I’ve heard about it on the morning news, on the radio, and all over the Internet, but from LinkedIn? Not a word.

@hisgoosiegirl:  Right – but since it’s been all over the news, and they “only” got to 200,000 of the several million so far, hopefully people have been smart enough to change their passwords by now!
