This is very helpful!

I got sized a few years ago at Nordstroms and I was wearing the wrong size for over 10 years!

Thank you! I got sized a VS so I guess that means I am wearing the wrong size.

I will never find a bra that fits!  🙁  They just don’t make them readily available for extremely large breasted women with tiny rib cage.  A lot of bees have been helpful though!  I just wish there was a Nordstrom in my area, but I will have to trial and error it online.  My breasts are larger than my almost 6 month baby bump!

@SpecialSundae:  What’s the quickest way to tell if the bra you’re wearing is too big? (cup size).  I lost weight and am unsure whether I need to go down or not.

I think it’s hilarious that VS, and I used to work there, preaches all of these things, but has so few sizes that they end up selling bras that just provide the closest fit.

ETA it’s also not cool that some women who don’t wear a mainstream size go into stores like VS to “test” the girls that work there by having them give a measurement, and then berating them if they don’t measure them as “their” size. I had that happen to me once and it was really annoying

@rubybride718:  Just look at the cups when the bra is on, and if there is gapping or the underwire is too wide for your breast (like, under the arm, your breast stops but the underwire keeps going) the cups are too big

@MeiFrancis:  LOL. Whenever the little girls that work there want to measure me I say, “no thanks.”

@MeiFrancis:  I used to work there, too. *shudder*

Getting fitted at Nordstrom and buying there is the best thing I ever did for my 36GG girls. I was in Dirty Delete bras before then.

@gelaine22:  it’s not their fault, they get yelled at if they don’t ask

I’ve actually sized myself several times and come out anywhere between a 32A and a 34B. I KNEW that I was wearing the wrong size and went into VS one day, started chatting with one of the girls, and she suggested I try the sister size of 34B, 32C. What do you know–it fit perfectly. Unfortunately, 32C is an odd size and not many places carry it. I often have to order my bras on the VS website because of it. :

@SpecialSundae:  Thanks for starting this, as I was also thinking about starting this thread 🙂

Here another link as to why VS is not best equipped for giving out measurements:

Also, keep in mind that just becuase you’re a 32F in one brand, does not mean that you will be a 32F in all brands. Your size is liable to change based on brand and/or bra style.

@cbee:  What size are you? Check out the blog Braless in Brasil; June the author is pregnant and her last few posts have been regarding her fluctuating size in pregnancy.

@SpecialSundae:  Interesting! I think I qualify for all of these things. I always thought I was doing it wrong by wearing it on the loosest clasp. Glad to hear I am correct!

Can’t even buy bras at VS. They don’t carry them big enough for me Frown Freya is the best brand!
