Hi bees!
I am in DESPERATE need of help! The fiance & I have 8 months till the big day….and not only do we not havea venue, we’re not even sure where on the globe this thing is gonna go down! Since we are paying for the wedding ourselves, we thought having a destination wedding would be the most budget friendly option. We both have very large families, so having it the states would mean inviting at least 300. A destination wedding would cut the invations down to 30-40, just immediate family & close friends. Plus, we both love to travel, so really like the idea of having a wedding out of the states.
We originally planned on getting married in the Dominican Republic. The problem is, flights are expensive & most of my family have never traveled abroad, so have no passports. Since we were asking guests to spend 500-600 just of travel, we felt like we needed to pay for their lodging. Well, this skyrocketed our bill. So now we are looking at locations in Puerto Rico. That’s where we got engaged & we both love the island. Also, flights are about $200 cheaper & a passport is not needed. We feel like if we had it in PR, there are enough lodging options, guests could pick the option that fits there own budget.
My question is, is it possible to plan a wedding in PR for around $10,000? I have found a lot of venue options, but most of the ones I have seen just provide the reception. I want to get married someplace where I don’t have to worry about anything, I can’t imagine finding florists, decorations, etc from overseas & I know that would just be a constant budget increase. Has anyone gotten married at a place that is all inclusive as far as providing everything for the wedding? Is it even possible?
Sorry if this post is rambling or unclear. I have, as of right now, been wedding interneting for the past 4 hours, so my brain is a little fried:) Thanks for any help!
