I highly recommend the Hard Rock – it’s amazing.  Pricey, but awesome.

Ziggy2112 :  We toured the Hard Rock while staying at a different resort.  It is amazing and lots to do and see.  However, I will say that the downfall is that it’s too “Americanized”.  If you are looking for a hotel that captures more of the local culture and you will be able to socialize with more than just Americans, then Hard Rock is not for you.

We stayed at Barcelo Bavaro Palace Punta Cana for a couples trip with 3 other couples and loved it!  We had a room with our own jacuzzi on the balcony.  The view was amazing and like many places in town, the hotel was right on the beach.  There were plenty of activities that you can book from the hotel.  We did banana boat and our friends did scuba diving.

Since this is your honeymoon you may want to look into adults only resorts. Sanctuary Cap Cana, Excellence resorts (Excellence El Carmen is brand new), Secrets – adjacent to family resort so keep that in mind, Breathless – bit more party atmosphere than relaxation, and Zoetry come to mind. Zoetry isn’t strictly adults only but its fairly expensive and there’s not much for kids to do so its majority adults. Hard Rock isn’t my cup of tea, its very Americanized as stated above but it all depends on what type of honeymoon you want. 🙂 ETA: Forgot about Secrets Cap Cana, opening next month. If we go back to the DR this would be our choice.

BEE! Im dominican so i might be biased but i have stayed in a few resorts and i would highly recommend majestic ellegance. they are actually in the middle of constuction until December when the new sister resort Mirage opens up. I’ve been to a few resorts and this resort was entertaining and beautiful. and the food was amazing! Another good resort is the hard rock its beautiful but a bit on the pricey side. i also agree with Heavenlyflower ^ sanctuary cap cana and excellence are also top choices for me .

I recommend Paradisus in Punta Cana – very nice! There is an all inclusive option, too. See if they can upgrade you to one of the suites, as the rooms are super romantic  wink
