I am sure some of you may know my husband and I are on the hunt for a large breed dog to add to our fur family. My husband told me only one more dog and I said that is fine. He said his deal was it must be a large breed and my deal was he/she must come from a kill shelter and be urgent. He agreed. So we picked a shelter in my home town which is an hour away. Its a larger city and they get so many dogs. So usually they always have urgent dogs.
Anyways, my husband knows if I could have it my way I would get two more dogs. One large and one small. But I didn’t push the matter further than just letting him know how I longed for both.
This morning (he works 3rd shift) he was late getting home. I figured he was stopping for flowers or chocolates. Boy was I ever wrong! He stopped at our local shelter and got this little girl who is a chihuahua/boston terrier mix. She had only been there over night! My husband had talked to them yesterday and knew a rescue team was coming in today to collect all of the dogs that didn’t have homes set up already for them. Which is great because the rescue team either has a forever home or foster home for each little sweetie there!
Here is my Molly!
This picture of me is HORRIBLE. I hadn’t been up long (not even long enough for breakfast.) So my hair is in a wrecked bun but I was so happy!
Once we find the perfect large breed dog for our family (who is good with other dogs) our fur family will finally be complete. And I understand how much hard work it really is. I have grown up with animals my entire life. My house was always like a farm/zoo and I loved it. I am stay-at-home so I have plenty of time for it. And I am very patient with my fur babies. Even though sometimes they can wreck everything you own they fill up your heart so it is so worth it!
