If you don’t mind sharing how much roughly would you be saving by ordering on-line?  Also what would the lead time be?

I see your a July 2013 bride.  If you order the on-line dress and are not happy with it … would you be able to afford purchasing the dress from a reputable boutique?  Reason I ask is so that you have a back up plan.  If you were to order the on-line dress and receive it no later than beginning of October and hate it you’d have enough lead-time to then go to a reputable boutique and order the dress or a different dress and receive it in enough time for your wedding.

Great dress choices!

I ordered a dress from Dressilyme a couple of weeks ago kind of on the whim because they were having a sale and it was so cheap I just had to check it out. Like you, I did a lot of research and found that positive reviews generally outweighed the negative. If you go this route, I’d definitely recommend insisting on having pictures of the dress sent to you when it’s made. They will tell you that they’re too busy to do this probably several times, but if you’re polite and persistent you can get them to agree to it.

I’m thinking if the dress is awful, I’ve not lost much. If it’s nice then I can either wear it or sell it if I want to go for a different style down the road. But if I did change my mind within the two years leading up to my wedding, I think a good experience would make me comfortable ordering another style from them too.

As for timing, as you know, they’ll get it to you within 1-2 months, so I think that’s great for leaving you with room for other arrangements. I hear store-bought dresses can take much longer to come in. Good luck with your decision! I’m excited for you!

And welcome to the Hive!

It is my experience as a Bridal Store Manager that Brides are less satisfied when ordering from the knock off sites than when they are working with a local salon. We have had to “rescue” many Brides from their online disaster dresses and it ended up costing them much more than had they shopped local to begin with.

Best of luck!

Personally I would cut out all the unnescessary stress and go to a bridal shop. What if it arrives and it’s not right or doesn’t arrive at all or you have to send it back to get a refund and the refund is not given?

I agree with @Irish-bride:  and head to a bridal store!!  Save yourself the stress and a possible disaster

According to my previous experience, i think fast e-mail replying is not a only criteria of credit standing of the dress shop online. The fast shipping speed and the professional customer service are all the elements to consider. I bought my wedding gown at bridal-buy last year and really impressed by the free custom sizing service, the guaranteed quality and extreme fast shipping speed, very happy with it.

I love top dress. Is that a Casablanca? Please let me know how you go if you do go ahead with purchasing online. My champagne tastes on a beer budget mean buying a wedding dress from a bridal store is not really feasible. Plus I know deep down I will only wear it once so I cannot justify spending thousands. Good luck!!!

@boynamedgirl:  This is probably a bit late for you, but you really should do a search on Weddingbee for ‘Jasamines Bridal Shop’ and read the posts.  They you can decide.
