I was hoping to get input on manzanita branches. We are having our wedding on 12/10/11. I have been find some great deals on these branches right now. Is it too early to buy them? Does the wood split when it sits around? Is there something I should do as soon as I get them? One seller of the branches said his will have leaves on them still, is that a problem?
Also, where did you order your crystals from? Did you like the way they looked?
Any help on these would be great.

@sweetcandy53704: I’m sorry I am no help. But I was wondering where you purchased your manzanita branches? I am interested in having them for my wedding as well but I don’t know where to look! Thanks and sorry I am no help!

The wood doesn’t split if it sits around. I bought mine about 7 months in advance because it was harvest season and they were cheaper. The wood was totally fine when I painted it/built the centerpieces 7 months later. Just make sure you have somewhere that is dry-ish to store them so that they don’t get molded or anything!

@MlleBrielle: I got mine from Ebay. saveoncrafts.com also has a great selection! Some florists/floral markets also have them.

Great, thanks for the tip crayfish. I did end up buying them, I took them out of the box and then I’m going to leave them in my basement, covered with a sheet until we are ready to paint them this summer. sooo excited!! 🙂

A lot of people actually use these as Decor in their house.
The two I sold already potted someone locally bought for decor in their house after the wedding…..
You just need alot of room to store and transport them especially if you pot them depending on how large you are going for.
