I am starting to think of the details of my bouquet and the girls bouquet, however, I am having hard time to figure out what flowers I want to have and what shades of purples I want to use. I want something that soft and nothing too colorful and bright , Also I dont want the bouquets to have only one color of flower or one type of flower.
I love roses, hydregians and peonis.
Any ideas or pics of purple bouquets? Also would you add ivory to your bouquet if your dress is ivory or would you do that to bridesmaids bouquets?

I think of purple rannuculous flowers when you say colorful yet soft. This is obviously only one flower but that was my first thought when i read your post.
Or the other photo has a lot of different puple flowers in it.
ETA: I’m doing purple calla lillies with white stephnotis (sp?) and then white calla lillys for my bridesmaid to anwser your other question. I wanted to colored on my white dress and white on their purple dress.

This was my bouquet. i’m not sure if you consider it too colourful, but i liked having different shades of purple.

I gave my florist this for inspiration:
She’s going to make it look similar 🙂

These were mine. The bridemaid’s bouquets are probably more colorful than you are looking for, but may give you ideas for types of flowers.

SLS79, I love your Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets! Do you mind if I save your picture to show to a florist?

@Snowy414: I LOVE the lisianthus flowers in the first bouquet. They are my favorite purple flower. So gorgeous! I’m doing pink and red flowers and thinking about telling my florist to look into doing pink lisianthus. They are so ruffly an romantic!

I like some of these bouquets:
I like the idea of the Lavender bouquet for an outside wedding or country wedding. Not everyone’s thing, but I think it’s gorgeous!

@Ms. Purple:are those peonies in your boquet? I love peonies but am having a November wedding so I am afraid since they will be out of season they will be more expensive. Very pretty!

@meginstl: I too love Peonies, but am getting married at the end of July. Peonies are ridiculously expensive out of season. As an alternative, I am using Garden roses. They are full and most have a high petal count like peonies. You should look into them. They are my favorite flower now besides Dahlias. You could look into Dahlias too, as some of the bigger kinds are very big and fluffy! I’ve grown some dinnerplate dahlias that were huge and gorgeous.

I am doing deep purple colors with deep red and white roses and (hopefully) purple calla lillies…..check out “moon carnations…” they are gorgeous and cheap! Gerbers are good too…I’m doing cheaper flowers in my girls bouquets or I may just make them from silks. Not sure how they would photograph next to real flowers though…

For a September wedding-you could do lavender spray roses and dahlias. I raised some deep purple dinnerplate dahlias. Hopefully you can see the purple and lavender dahlias in the photos. Also @ Fiftyflowers.com you can actually search the flowers by color online.
