I love this idea and really wanted to do it but purple got nixed from our colors.  I can’t wait to see the pictures everyone posts.

There are a few good designers for this I work in a bridal store and seen this successfully done a few times…

Wtoo Bridesmaids

There crystal chiffon has many shades of purple available…

Bill Levkoff is another popular mix-and-match designer due to their wide variety of styles and colors…

I work in bridal and I have seen this done well before however you still need to have some control over it or it can get ‘circus-ish’ real quick and everyone looks like they are going to a different wedding. To give your girls some guidance pick a designer you like and let them pick the style from that line. At lest you know the fabrics will be the some, also I would assign the girls colors (or have them pick if they can be civil about it) so everyone is not wearing the same color.

Wtoo is a good brand to look at their crystal chiffon has several shades of purple…

Bill Levkoff is also popular for mix-and-match bridesmaids due to their wide variety of styles and colors…

I don’t have photos, but Dessy offers a ton of shades of purple and a ton of floor length dresses, so mixing and matching would be really simple.

I like the ombre dress look but I personally would do different colors or different styles. I wouldn’t do both. I’d be worried it would look too busy

I did purple (albeit eggplant and short dresses) but I did twist and tie dresses so that they could tie them however they wanted.

I think this would look so good as long as you’re matching tones… like dusty/dark tones, lilac tones or jewel tones. I love that top look, in the dusty tones.
