Me!  We’ll be having purple and ivory with touches of silver/grey.  Here are a fwe of my inspiration pics:

White and Purple Carnation cake

The cake will be a traditional English fruit cake (made by my mum!) with ivory and purple sugarcraft orchids in place of the carnations.

Gorgeous kusudama bouquet

I’m making origami kusudama flowers for my bouquet, my maids’ bouquets, my flowergirls’ pomanders and the bouts with this as my inspiration pic.

DIY Floating Candle Holders : wedding Submerged Flower

The centrepieces will be similar to this

This is Mr CL’s suit.  It’s dark grey and very shiny!  We’re asking the groomsmen and dads to wear dark grey suits of their choice.  Mr CL will organise co-ordinating purple ties and a waistcoat for him.

My dress is ivory organza, but I’m not sharing it with anyone until the day Wink

Kathy Ireland Chiffon Dress

This is the bridesmaids’ dress, except obviously in purple.

Glamorous A-Line Scoop Floor-length Bowknot Flower Girl Dress

I like this one for flowergirl dresses, except in ivory and purple.

I think that’s the main bits.

Oh, and these are Mr CL’s shoes (he already owns purple docs!)

I’ll be wearing Docs too.  They don’t do these in ivory, but I’m totally going to rock the mismatched ivory and white (particularly as you can’t see them under the dress).

Purple is the color of Royalty. You could run with a Royal Romance theme.

Your theme also does not have to be directly connected to your colors.

What is your venue like? What feel are you hoping to leave people with when they think of your wedding?

Purple also reminds me of wine. Are you wine drinkers?

Do the two of you have special interests?

As for colors to go with purple and ivory- lavender, green, gold ( would go with the royal theme), yellow, blue, pink- many will work.

http://www.theperfectpalette.com is a great site for choosing colors. Scroll down on the right, click on the shade of purple you like and you will see various palettes thet have developed.

This one is a pretty summmer combination- Lilac and Lemonade

My colors were purple and gold. My dress was lace – champagne underlay and ivory lace overlay. I loved my colors!

Our colors were purple, ivory, grey, black, and silver. Most of my photos are here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/our-intimate-elegant-lovely-affair-teaser-pics. And here are two non-pro photos that didn’t make it into that post.

Our signs- silver frame, purple border, silver shimmer paper, black ink AND purple orchids decorating the food on our dessert table

I’m getting married in December so I’m using the darker purple (eggplant) with gold and ivory.
