I’d suggest NOT having a purse in the shots.  Even a small purse might hinder the "love shots" you’re trying to get or prevent natural, close movements between you and your man.

Can you live w/ just ID, a credit card, a couple of $20s and lipstick?  If so, stick it in your man’s pocket.

If you just have a wristlet, I think your photographer might be happy to stick it in their bag during the shoot. Just don’t forget they have it!

You said that this photographer is a friend so I’d just ask him or her to hold it or put it by their stuff. When we did ours with our friend, she carried her camera bag (actully two camera bags since my Fiance had his camera there for her to use too). Any time we stoped to take shots I just dropped my purse by the camera bag. Either that or I’d just throw my id, some money, and my lipstick in my pockets or FI’s pockets. Good luck and have fun! You’ll never kiss as much as you will during your engagement shoot. 🙂

An engagement photo session isn’t even something I’d ever really heard of before, but I want one!!! We live in PA, but our wedding and photographer are both in NY, and I can’t see us going up for a day just for that.. boo! I’ll just have to live vicariously through all of your stories
