I did. My fiance and I were in a temporary LDR, due to be back in the same city in late 2011. When he proposed this past June, we set a date for October 2011. And then, I lost my job, moved back early, and we bumped up our date to September 2010. Honestly, I think a shorter engagement will be better. Otherwise, I would have just had longer to obsess and freak out about details. Go for it!

You aren’t crazy to consider it at all.  That gives you roughly eight months plan a wedding, and that is plenty of time (especially if you’ve already been thinking about what you want).

Good luck to your FI!

Haha, I know EXACTLY how you feel.

Our date jumped all over the place. He proposed in March 09, and we set the date for May 2010, which freaked me out since I hadn’t been thinking of marriage at all, and now on top of getting used to being engaged I had to plan right then, and I had NO idea what I was doing. To save money and enjoy being engaged for a little longer, we moved the date to April 2011. Then we decided we didn’t want to wait that long and have finally rested on November 2010.

You’re not crazy! 🙂
