@FauxBoho:  I’ve seen her name pop up over on Hellobee.  Seems like a lot of the pregnant ladies and new moms have migrated over there.

I am so completely against the idea of a Push Present. I can’t imagine being worried about a material thing after carrying a baby for 9 months and FINALLY being able to hold it in my arms. The first time I saw the idea of a Push Present was on RHOC and it immediately struck a nerve with me. YUCK!
Needless to say, the only ‘gift’ I want after labor is my child!

i never heard of this until i read this thread.  i would never have expected such a gift, but i don’t think it’s a bad thing.  i think DH actually asked me last week if he was supposed to get me something when i am in the hospital and i said it was up to him!  obviously if he does, it will be a nice gesture and i will be touched and i will like it,  but all i really want from him is his utmost support and hand to squeeze while i am pushing!

I got an iPad as a push present because my laptop was too cumbersome during feedings.

The baby is surely the gift? I dont need anything else in honour of giving birth.

I’ve never heard of this and can’t say I expect anything from hubby at all. Flowers would be nice, but I can’t really expect anything more since we’re flat out broke. I think it’s sweet when a hubby does special things to make his wife feel special after the birth-  but don’t see it as necessary. I realize we’ll both be exhausted and honestly feel I should get hubby a becoming a daddy gift now for putting up with my sick pregnant butt for nine months haha. The guy’s been through so much, especially with 24/7 MS. 😉 I don’t judge anyone for wanting a gift- but for me and my hubby, right now the thought of bringing home a baby is enough of a present for the both of us.

I will not be telling my fiance about this push gift thing – as long as he continues to do everything he can to help me when I am pregnant, that is gift enough, and he keeps on giving.

@Wed2Attn:  Agree – what could you want more than a healthy baby? I don’t get it.
