I have mastered pushups on my knees or "girl" pushups. I feel as though I am ready to move up to regular pushup form; however I can only kick out 5 or so pushups this way (and they aren’t in the best form).
I know I need to keep increasing my intensity — so does anyone have any recommendations for how to graduate to regular pushups?
I know this sounds like a silly question, but I feel silly going from doing 50 girl to 5 boy style!

I tried doing pushups on a Bosu last night and I really think it helped my form. Just a suggestion!

When I moved from knee pushups to regular ones, it was helpful to keep my feet far apart at first (like as wide as your hands, roughly shoulder width) and then gradually move them closer as I got stronger. Another thing you can try is putting your hands on a bunch of mats or a low bench, so you’re doing them on an incline. Good luck!

Don’t feel bad about girl vs. boy pushups-both are hard. Even though you say you are ready to start boy "push-ups", I would recommend you keep to the "girl push-ups" and try the 100 push-up challenge (google it). Once you’ve mastered that maybe then your body will be ready for "boy push-ups". I’m up to over 70 "girl push-ups" and the program kicks my butt every day!
