That is great! Can I ask what area you live in? I dont think I could buy a garage around here for that (San Francisco area)

@ThreeMeers you’re right. I sell RE in the city, and you can’t even get a decent studio apartment for under $450,000.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I feel for you SF bees (I have family in San Mateo), I know how crazy CA real estate can be since I’m originally from Mission Viejo.  I’m so glad I transplanted to the Carolinas.

@AcheneMalefic:  I am totally jealous as I work from home in my rented condo.  πŸ™‚  We looked to buy a couple times in the past few years, but we simply dont want to pay the prices here knowing we are moving next .

Good luck!  And add me to the list of people who are totally jealous of the real estate prices in your area!

Good luck! Our market is ridiculous right now. All-cash buyers are swooping in and snatching everything up – both to flip and just for rental income. When you’re trying to buy a piddly (for this area) condo, and you’ve scrimped and saved and it’s still a half a million, and you are offering tens of thousands over asking, and STILL all cash buyers are beating you, it can become soul crushing.

We’re finally under contract and awaiting the appraisal. Fingers crossed we didn’t bid too aggressively and it is fundable. Ugh.

@AcheneMalefic:  Have you considered writing a love letter to the owners as part of your offer. Maybe you can tug on their heartstrings just a bit in order to have an edge over the cash offer.
