I don’t think it’s rude, but I didn’t put any photos of mine on facebook. Photos just didn’t seem to do it justice!

@impatientlywaiting20:  You’re not old!!!!!!! If you’re old, then it means I’m nearly old, if I am not already….  Although I seewhat you say.  I am 32 and I know what you’re getting at.

Nobody knew anything about my ring until 6 months into the engagement.. where you would literally have to stalk my latest four albums (each with 200+ photos) from our recent Euro trip to get maybe a glimpse or 2 of my ring haha!

If they discovered these 2 pictures, congratulations.. they totally get an award in my book!

For the record, I wouldn’t mind seeing more ring porn on FB.. Makes my stalking easier anyway.  😉

My fiance posted ring photos right away.  It was like we weren’t officially engaged until he’d changed his facebook status to engaged and posted the ring pics, lol!

It was funny because we were running late for something and needed to leave, but he’s all like, “wait I need to do the pictures!”

I liked that he posted and shared the pics myself.  I guess I didn’t think that maybe it could be considered rude.

I don’t think it necessarly has anything to do with wanting to show off something expensive (although for some people, I’m sure it is).  My engagement ring was a fairly inexpensive one and I still posted it on Facebook twice!  The second time I posted it was because I had a lot of people curious about how the wedding band would look with the Claddagh ring.  Anyway, it wasn’t about showing off something expensive, it was about showing my friends and family something that I’m just so happy to finally have!  I’m a first (and hopefully ONLY) time bride at thirty years old and just wanted my friends and family (many of whom are not local) to share in my joy at finally getting married!  I guess the fact that I’m thirty years old doing this also goes to show that it doesn’t really have anything to do with the age factor either.

I didn’t post a close up of mine on FB, but I don’t think it’s rude when others do it. I posted a pic of myself where you could clearly see I was wearing a ring. When I see people get engaged on FB I stalk their pages to find a pic of the ring, so I love when they post it!
