Has anyone actually done little word puzzles at the place settings for the reception? I was considering doing this as something fun for our guests while they are mingling and we are getting our pictures done.
I wonder if they would be a waste or would people think they are cute?

i like that! people also do puzzles/crosswords that are about the couple, which can also be fun!

@gill84: Yeah, I’m thinking of doing two kinds of puzzles, one crossword and one word search – the answers would be wedding and couple (us!) related. I guess I jsut wonder how well received they are or if people think they are kind of silly.
So many ideas I get online I sit there wondering “but how does this turn out when it’s executed in real life?” and that is what I’m wondering about this.

I have never heard of it, but if it fit with our theme, I would totally consider it. I think it is a great idea. I am going to be including a word find in our programs.

To clarify – I should have said word puzzles, like crossword and word searches! 🙂

I had a word search and a crossword in our ceremony programs- thought it would pass the time if people got there early, and a mad lib and ‘fortune tellers’ with trivia about us on the reception tables. I got lots of positive feedback on them!

I considered doing something like this in my program, but I have opted for the “I SPY” instead because we are having a photographer friend take our pics and want all the additional photo’s instead. I think the program is a good place for this, or you could also set them at the bar and people could pick them up when they are waiting for their drinks. Another idea would be to set them at the table setting (if you don’t have a menu there)
