In this case, “PWC” stands for Post-Wedding Color, not cut–I love-love my long hair and would never dream of cutting it all off!I would like to try a new hair color, though, especially since white hairs are beginning to make an appearance (I’m 21, but I’ve had a relatively stressful life thus far and premature grey hair runs in my family).
From the recap threads, you all know what I look like by now. 😉 I’m considering dyeing my hair some shade of copper; I’ve had auburn hair before and liked it, but I feel like I could pull off something a little more intense. However, I don’t want to go lighter than maybe a 5 or 6, which is about the range my hair color is in now, because I don’t want to have to mess with my brows (which are naturally very dark). My natural color is a medium reddish/golden brown, but tends to look mousy under fluorescent lights because the highlights don’t show up except in natural light. Bah. Failhair is fail.
Would a warmer, copper-toned shade work with my skin and eye color? Should I go with my old standard for color (medium auburn)? Or should I forget about it and just have fun watching my roots grow out? Part of me thinks it’d be really cool to just let the white hairs grow out and see if they make some sort of awesome streak…lol.
What say you, Hive?

I like auburn would look beautiful on you.

I’d just need to make sure to ask for semi-permanent dye this time instead of demi…which faded out in about two weeks (tear, tear).

Yeah, demi doesn’t seem to last long on my hair either. I personally like the Perfect 10, it doesn’t smell too bad and my hair is shiney afterward!

Did you have the auburn for your engagement pictures?

@MrsSaltWaterTaffy: I had my hair dyed at a salon for the first time a few months ago and swore I would never go back to the box stuff–I have a lot of hair so it’s almost impossible to do it myself. Also, I’m addicted to the deep conditioning treatments…but if I find a “victim” to help with my hair, I’ll def. try Perfect 10!
@MissTatas: No, that was a box color that faded to a nice auburn-in-the-sun shade. 🙂 The auburn I had done at a salon was a reasonably bright red, but maybe a little too blue-toned for my skin, I think.

I love the color it was in your wedding pictures! Although you could probably pull off any of them!
PS – I LOVE Perfect 10. I use the medium brown, and it pulls pretty dark, almost a chocolate brown.

@Linz1231: LOL, the wedding picture color was the last stubborn remnants of the auburn with a ton of regrowth and my natural color peeking through–my hair was seriously five different colors, I think (though it looked cool in the updo!). It was mostly my natural color though, I think. I’ve been wondering if a darker shade would be okay or if it would be too dramatic/wash me out…I’d love to go a little darker but when I dyed my hair myself the last time (which was a dark auburn about a year ago), it was super-dark.

i dye my hair coppery red and i loooove it. lol. i picked the copper ed. i’m very fair skinned though, so it looks natural on me. people can never usally guess i dye it, (in fact i have people just assume i’m Irish, when i’m not)lol. so, if you have fair skin, i say go for it. 🙂

@rlsh86: Have you seen me? I’m like a ghost, haha! I just don’t want to look like Ariel or something since I have blue eyes. I guess that’s my big fear about that color.

@Mrs Grape: I voted for auburn and I stand behind it because I LOOOOVE the color you had in your engagement pictures, even if it was a faded box color. Although I really just love any shade of red hair.

@MissTatas: I wish there was a product you could apply to fade the hell out of your hair color (weird, right?). I loved that color, too. My favorite ever, I think!

@Mrs Grape – Haha, well I thought it looked great!
If you use Perfect 10, go a shade lighter than you want it to turn out. Like I said, I buy the Medium Brown and it ends up closer to the Dark Brown box.
