My Maid/Matron of Honor is 3 months pregnant and due in October. I couldn’t be more thrilled for her! It’s making dress shopping a little complicated but we’re figuring things out, no biggie.
My only dilemma is that she will be bringing her six-month infant to the wedding. There’s just no way around it because her parents are incapable of watching over the child, and they have no immediate friends or family to leave him/her with. On top of that, she doesn’t want to be far from her new baby, and I can totally understand that.
We are asking our guests not to bring their children as it’s an evening wedding with alcohol, etc. I’m perfectly fine with making an exception for my best friend and dealing with the consequences of other guests getting upset with us, but what should I do to accommodate an infant??? She refuses a babysitter. Her husband will be at the wedding and watching over the child while she does the usual Maid/Matron of Honor stuff, and I won’t deny that it bums me out a little that they might leave early. I just feel like I should be providing something to help. She has no idea because she’s never had a child. Does anyone have experience with this?
