not necessarily. There are many things that can effect HCG rise and when it’s enought o be detected.

Plus, what are you doing to confirm your O date? Temping, OPKs?

Implantation normally happens 7-12 DPO (I think average is 9) so you need a day or two after that for enough hcg to build up to be detectable.  So I think 8-14 DPO could all be possibilities for a BFP and no, you wouldn’t get a squinter until you hit the lowest hcg level that the test picks up.  I would guess most people get a BFP sometime between 9-12 DPO so I don’t see why a negative at 10 DPO means you’re done for good that cycle.

For the 5 days before your missed period, I wouldn’t read into that.  I’m not sure how they figure that terminology.  Maybe they mean you have officially missed your period at 18 DPO (since the longest luteal phase you can have is 17ish days, though I’ve also heard 16 days) and they say you’ll get an answer up to 5 days before then, which would be 12-13 DPO and most people would have a BFP by that point.  So maybe that’s why they market it that way.  Don’t read so much into the marketing.  Plus, I think they say “up to 5 days before your missed period” which doesn’t mean you will have an answer 5 days before your missed period.  It means, you could get a BFP up to 5 days before your missed period.  And that all depends on how long your luteal phase is.  I would never have gotten a BFP 5 days before my period was due as mine was due 10 or 11 DPO.

I took a FRER on 10dpo – stark white. I didn’t test again until 13dpo and it was positive! Judging by the darkness of the line I think I would’ve gotten a faint positive by 12dpo, if not 11dpo. I’d say I just implanted a bit on the late side.

I don’t know how you can be addicted to POAS. It’s so depressing to see all these Bfn. I do it once as late as possible if I don’t get my period (which is quite often as I have pcos!)

Sunshine09:  What kinds of symptoms? People don’t usually have symptoms this early.

I had a squinter at 8/9DPO and at 9/10 DPO my  beta was only 21. I think it all depends on your body. I had no symptoms though until around 5-6 weeks pregnant.
